Hidden Adventure Swamp & Plantation Tours — Attraction in New Orleans

In light of the fact that me and my sister have never kayaked before + this is the only environment and wildlife friendly tour I could find, I decided to book this tour (albeit being a bit more costly than others). We had Kelley as our tour guide (he was absolutely amazing and very knowledgeable), and also our impromptu coach for learning how to kayak for the first time 😂😂😂. Kayaking sounds scary because we’ve never tried it before but I’m glad we did!

We booked the tour near thanksgiving and was lucky enough to be the only two people for that time slot. Even though it’s November (wintertime) the weather was surprisingly warm and we got to see baby gators, a bald eagle, and numerous cute turtles (Kelley had a much better eye for spotting them than us, so he actually found most of the wildlife 😅). We learned pretty quick how to maneuver and was fine throughout the whole tour (did almost run into a few gators though😬). All in all the tour was calm, exciting, and Kelley was...

$60 for an hour trip up and down the swamp for 1 hour. No drinks or snacks were included. We were the last 3 people to get on the boat and there wasn't any space left on the boat for us. The driver then offered two medium sized coolers for us to sit on. They didn't offer us an opportunity to wait and get the next boat for everyone's safety. One of the younger ladies was kind and made room and she sat on one of the coolers. On our way back to the dock, the driver was coming in very fast and crashed us into the dock, which created a domino effect of everyone falling forward into me at the back of the boat. One young lady was injured and had a hard time getting off the floor. The driver jumped off the boat as soon as we were parked correctly. He never apologized or offered to pick up that woman...

What a wonderful experience! Booking was easy and set the tone for a great experience. We opted for a private experience and could not have been more pleased. Captain Badass was the best. We learned that it was his birthday so we felt even more special that we were his single trip of the day. He was super friendly and made sure we got to see gators up close and personal.

The boat (ours was the Bentley) was equipped with a cooler and ice could be purchased on-site. They also had adorable Jell-O shots in syringes. Captain Badass let us play our selected music which enhanced the experience even more.
