French Truck Coffee — Restaurant in New Orleans

I was appaled by my experience here as I had a wonderful experience at the uptown location. I was visiting my daughter for her first year of college and we frequently got coffees at the Uptown location so naturally on my way to the airport I decided we would stop at the mid city location. The atmosphere was jarringly different. It was loud, the staff was yelling and unatentive. There were flies everywhere because the counters and the tables were filthy. You could see drinks had spilled over the counter onto the floor and been left. There were live bugs IN the pastry display, ON the pastries. When I pointed it out and said I no longer wanted the croissant as there were bugs on it, the bald female cashier curled her nose and gave me a dirty look. Then while waiting for an expresso, a woman with a mohawk stormed up and got abrasive with me and my daughter. She claimed to be the manager and was livid at US. She 'didnt understand the problem', and behaved as if we had made a scene. She didn't offer to fix the problem, she didn't make a move to replace the pastries or at the very least get the bugs out of the display. In fact , when we left the same pastry still had the same bugs on it. She was just upset we said something and refused to buy a fly covered croissant. Then she tried to take it to socio. political level and started talking about micro aggressions and classism. I didn't know not wanting to pay for and eat bug covered food made me an elitist. Absolutely, appalled. We ended up leaving our drinks on the counter. As we pulled out that 'manager' was on the back step sucking on a vape, yelling into her phone. Coffee is always good nothing frilly or extra about it just some plain ole good coffee (which I love) I got the turkey sandwich sub croissant and it was AMAZING. So delicious, great combo of salty and sweet (has a fruit compote spread in it) The sandwich serving is great for lunch. I always place an online order and I've never had issues with that. I work on the greenway a couple minutes away from them so online ordering is super convenient cause I'm usually rushing back to work. The location is really pretty. I went one day where they had all the windows up and it was just such a relaxing environment. And their dog friendly 😊 Strict COVID protocols in place. Glad to have them so close to work/home. Food was awful, I asked for the avocado toast, which we have gotten before, but this time the avocado was black, literally they served me food that should had been thrown away and not given to a costumer, and barely avocado, it was like a butter spread and looking dark, old. The expresso was sour and tasteless, I did not even touched it and left it on the table. Why are we tipping if no one came to ask was everything ok?... My husband's mocha was watery and tasteless. It only took this one bad experience to loose a costumer. Next time take the loss, throw away the old food and serve people fresh food. This is a health department and Ecosure critical violation.
