Tried G's Pizza for the first time tonight. Read some good reviews and thought it would be worth the trip over. Keep in mind that Google does way reviews differently depending on your status with them. The restaurant itself is very quaint and unique. It has a lot of that New Orleans flavor. Quirky and different. I was immediately greeted when I walked in the door. Everyone was super friendly. My server was very polite and informative. The menu itself had a lot of options ranging from traditional Pizza and Pasta to some more strange and outrageous diversions if that's your thing. I decided to go traditional tonight and got a margarita pizza. The restaurant was clean. There were several servers who were cleaning up. The pizza itself was decent. They used fresh basil and tomatoes, which I appreciate. I felt like the pizza itself was a bit undercooked. It had a slightly doughy texture. Still very enjoyable. The brussel sprouts were pretty good as well. The portion was big and they were well fried. For some reason, there was an additional charge on my check for dining in, which I found a little strange. We are in New orleans. I've never been charged to dine in at a restaurant. The overall experience was good. I wouldn't hesitate going back here if someone recommended it. I took off one point for the undercooked pizza and 1/2 point for the dine-in charge. I wish Google would let us leave half stars. This place would be a 3.5. Otherwise, it was a pleasant experience with good service. Update... After reading the strange and repetitive reply from the restaurant, I feel as though I have to add something here. Why would a restaurant charge customers extra to eat at the restaurant, but not take out? It cost more for takeout because you have to put it in boxes and bags, etc. Most of the time, drive-thru customers don't leave tips. So either this person is being misleading or they don't realize that charging people to eat inside of the restaurant is incredibly counterproductive.

My boyfriend and I placed a to go order here on a Sunday after hearing about them from one of our Lyft drivers while we were in town. Our order was placed about an hour or so before they closed so we picked it up. However, I so wish we had realized they delivered because it would've been a lot more convenient. I enjoyed my gyro the most. I absolutely love gyro's but I'm used to them being on the traditional pita bread so the wrap/tortilla was a change. The meat wasn't finely sliced like most gyros I've had in the past but overall I liked it. I'm not sure if the wrap was because we ordered to go or if that is their standard but either way it didn't disappoint. We also had extra tzatziki sauce. My least favorite item was the spinach and artichoke dip which was a little disappointing because it's my go to appetizer. The serving size is amazing but I prefer dip with chips and ironically it was served with pita bread. I think there may have been more spinach than artichoke and other ingredients because that's what I tasted the most. So it had a bitter after taste that I wasn't a fan of. We wanted to try a few menu items so we opted for a small build your own pizza because slices aren't available on the weekends. The pizza was good, I don't have any complaints about it and I loved the Italian sausage. But it probably would've been more cost efficient. Their special board had a lot of good deals but a majority were for weekdays. The woman who took our order was very nice and patient and I appreciated the staff allowing us to sit in the restaurant (it started raining) while we waited for our Lyft.

My wife and I came here looking for something new to us. It turned out to be a true diamond in the rough. We had a good feeling as soon as we saw the candle light on each table. Our server's name was Ryann G. She made us feel very comfortable right from the beginning. She was very polite and her timing was on point. We started with a Caesar salad and the fried brussels sprouts. When we finished the salad and appetizer we had an extra large pizza. It was half NOLA green roots and half meathead. Then for desert we had a pint of New Orleans white chocolate bread pudding ice cream. Just to be clear we took half of the pizza home. We can eat a good bit. But we have limits. So how was it you ask. The salad was incredibly fresh and the fried brussels sprouts were the best we've ever had. The pizza had a generous amount of cheese and the toppings all seemed just as fresh as the salad. Needles to say it was great! We also enjoyed the ice cream very much even though at this point we were ready to pop. Ryann even scooped most of the pint out of the container and put it in a bowl for us with two spoons. The whole experience was one to remember and we will be back very soon.

I was really shocked by this experience because I had gone to this restaurant before and really enjoyed it. Having worked in the service industry, I sympathize with the stress of the job on restaurant staff, but nonetheless I couldn't believe how extremely poor the service was.

The waitress did not bring out the food for one of the four people in our group, had she checked on us at any point she would have noticed that we had eaten and that he still did not have any food. This was not the biggest problem. When we asked her whether the food was coming, she got very defensive and said "Well I'm not lying, they're making it, you can talk to my manger." (we were looking for a normal 'sorry' about not serving the ordered food or something along those lines, we had no interest in her ability to tell the truth nor did we call that into question). The manager came out, told us she would take the unserved food off the check, and we asked for it to go. The waitress was incensed by the whole thing, came out and dumped the plate of food on the table (some of the food fell on the floor and my friend's lap), slapped the check down next to it, which included the food that the manager told us we would not be charged for.

What's worse, another person in our group went up to the counter to have the food removed from the check. She started yelling at him, asking him why he was mean (?). It was bizarre. The members of our group are in management positions in the customer service industry, frequently eat out, and have never had an issue like this at a restaurant before. The food here is decent, but staff needs more training and...
