Every time I walk into Lamara, I'm greeted with genuine warmth and kindness from Dianne and her amazing team. There's a real sense of care here that goes far beyond just great service....it's like visiting a friend's home where they just happen to make the most delicious and nourishing food. Everything I've tried has been absolutely tasty and satisfying, and I love that it’s also good for me.
As for the food—where do I even start? I’m in love with the La Brea Burrito, especially with the soft potatoes and creamy avocado tucked inside. It’s pure comfort wrapped in a tortilla. The spring roll salad is fresh, crisp, and packed with flavor, and the superfood smoothie gives me a boost of energy that lasts throughout the day. Thank you, Lamara, for not just feeding my body but helping me feel better, too.

I honestly can’t say enough good things about Lamara. I’m just so grateful that a place like this exists. It's not just food....it truly feels like medicine made with love. The thoughtfulness and intention behind every dish are felt from the very first bite.
One of the biggest blessings has been the change I’ve seen in my mother’s health. I decided to switch up her morning routine and started getting her breakfast from Lamara. Ever since then, her blood pressure has stabilized—and that alone is a miracle to me. I also mentioned that her hands were always cold Dianne recommended the Matcha Latte. She started drinking it regularly, and to my surprise, her hands are now warm again! It’s made a noticeable difference.
The fact that something so healthy can also taste so good is a testament to Dianne’s vision and heart. It’s clear that this isn’t just a business—it’s a passion and a purpose, and it shows in every interaction, every recommendation, and every meal. Thank you for creating a space that nourishes both body and soul.
I'm not big on taking photos of my food but my go to's for myself are the spring roll bowl, labrea burrito, tumeric tonic latte and the cardamon vanilla latte....they also have great...
Read moreWow. This is the kind of food I CRAVE. Perhaps because they are not fully vegan, Lamara did not show up on my google searches for vegan food when I was initially planning my trip to New Orleans. (They are vegetarian; some items include cheese, eggs, or honey.) I was lucky to discover Lamara on a handy list of veg-friendly spots posted at Breads on Oak.
As soon as I browsed the menu at Lamara, I was infatuated. They are seed oil-free and refined sugar free; they do use coconut oil and olive oil in most dishes, but minimal amounts. They go out of their way to bake many components of their hot dishes such as tortillas, tofu, and potatoes, in order to minimize oil. So many fascinating items like homemade adzuki bean bacon. After much deliberation (since I only had the time for a light meal), I ordered the rainbow tostadas, made with refried pinto beans, oil-free cashew cilantro cream, spiralized yellow beets, romaine, purple cabbage, and avocado on baked corn tortillas. Visually stunning, impeccably fresh, and low in salt (but high in flavor). Impressive. I also had a hot chocolate with their homemade oil-free almond milk; delicious, and quite reasonably priced at only $4. I took the raw protein bites to go (oil-free, with almond butter). Great little treat that I would definitely get again.
I’m basically obsessed with everything this place has to offer, and had a difficult time not ordering one of everything on the menu. In addition, the staff were extremely patient and helpful in answering my many questions about ingredients. They made it easy for me to make the right choices for my diet. I wish there were more places like this. Please open a location in the...
Read moreGentrification at its finest. The prices of this establishment alone should tell you they have no intent to serve the community they are in. I have never been treated so rudely and according to other comments, it seems other black patrons have experienced mistreatment as well. Really bad service. Waited in the front of the line for 15 mins patiently and after reluctantly spending $17 on a coffee and a breakfast sandwich (crazy i know) I was rudely TOLD by the manager to “sit somewhere else” because I was a party of one although they were very nearly at their covid capacity with little mid day foot traffic. If you prefer a seating arrangement you should have a host to seat people instead of telling patronizing customers to GET UP. There was absolutely no signage at the table I was at. I demanded a refund and left. New Orleans has amazing coffee shops owned and operated by amazing people and this is NOT one of them.
When I arrived there was a young NON-BLACK woman (party of one) who was sitting at the table with her things who was not asked to move. Within two minutes of me selecting THAT SAME TABLE , I was asked to move. Again,...
