My second time in a week. My eggplant Parm last week was better than this week. Both of the paninis we ordered. were soggy on the inside. For me makes it impossible to enjoy as I don't like soggy stuff. The chicken on our chicken Parm was overcooked, dry, and had a mild scorched taste like it was shallow fried in a pan and the bits of the breading were beginning to burn. It was cooked way too long to be so thin. Had mango peach Italian soda again, that was good.
Had a Greek salad with chicken last week. It was very good the chicken was fresh flavorful and juicy. My Eggplant Parm sandwich last week was very good too.
I posted some older photos (June 27, 2021) of my first visit. That time my pizza was overcooked so it took me close to two years to try them again and I am across the street hungry every Sunday night. I am going to try the Pizza one more time and do an update.
Hopefully, it's better than the first time. I need a go-to place to eat when I am...
Read moreOMG. This place is AWESOME. It's like a little piece of Valhalla in the 9th ward. First of all, as soon ad you walk in you are greeted by a surprisingly beautiful interior (i grew up in the lower 9th ward and i wasn't used to seeing such lovely establishments there). It's brightly lit with warm colors all around. Next, as you look around taking it all in, you remember why you came there when you see the case of Gelato and Italian Ice decorated so lovely and looking so tantalizing. Luckily you don't have to suffer as Tantalus did because you can SAMPLE THE PRODUCT before you decide. Now, you can get your gelato as scoops or in a Milkshake!!!!! I know right. Plus....... They also have Pizza, Stromboli, Sausage stuffed pastries and Panini as well( that pizza was worth getting fussed at by my wife). All in all it was a wonderful experience and i most definitely will be returning...
Read moreWe got a pepperoni pizza here. It was good, I'd read a lot of reviews plus locals on Reddit said it was top 3 pizza spots in the city. It beats everything I've had in Florida, and this is the only pizza I've had in Louisiana. I think I am spoiled to northern pizza and Chicago pizza. I like all types of pizza, but it just wasn't as good as many places here in Minnesota. It worked for us, and we'd definitely return if we're in the city again. The man (I think the owner) working that evening was very pleasant, even though very busy, his coworker ringed up our order very quickly. Also we knew it was a gelato shop, but many people REALLY recommend their pizza.
Pros: Good pizza Friendly staff Clean
Cons: Due to beloved local reviews my expectations were...
