The Peculiar Note — Local services in New Orleans

Store Seemed nice and I was excited to support a music store with an in house technician, however the instrument repair tech was absolutely one of the the most unpleasant and rude humans I have dealt with in recent memory.

In addition, they do incredibly slow work and refuse to give even a guess of how long a service might take weeks? Months? Who knows. I followed up after a week for an extremely easy repair and was met with such a raving, ranting tirade (along with possible vailed threats?) that I decided to take my instrument back unfixed and go elsewhere.

TlDR: if you need an instrument repaired, there are a few better...

This is a cool shop right off of Magazine St that's easy to walk by if you're not paying attention, but they have a wide array of cool instruments and services. As a guitar player I dug their selection of acoustic and electric guitars, and reasonably priced. I also noticed they have a lot of drums and percussion instruments as well as a fully functional brass repair shop on site. It's cool to have a local alternative to the big chain store that's miles...

Super helpful people here, even though we weren't making a large purchase. Inspected a guitar for issues around why a string broke and took about 15 minutes out of their day to look around for a replacement, answer our questions, and show us around. Really good people. Why would you go to a national chain when you've got this local...
