My wife and I came for dinner during our vacation. This restaurant had great reviews so we were hoping for a nice meal. The seating inside was a little cramped but we expected that with how popular this place is. There were two nearby tables with loud and apparently drunken patrons that the management did nothing to quiet or cut off from further alcohol. Our server took about 10 minutes to greet us and that set the tone for the rest of the meal. I ordered a cocktail from our server and was surprised 30 minutes later when my entree arrived before my drink. I again asked for my cocktail and had finished my dinner for 15 minutes before our server came to check on us again, without my cocktail in hand. At that point, I told him to cancel my cocktail and just bring us our bill. 10 minutes later, he appeared with our bill, which listed the cocktail I had not received. I had to ask him to remove that charge as well as to correct the charge for 2 cups of their seafood ettoufee (delicious!), which were listed at $9 each on the bill, but a $2 uncharge on the menu. Our waiter wanted to argue over that and tried to convince us that we were in the wrong... that the ettoufee for $2 was only meant to be a drizzle. Our meal should have been delightful but due to the loud customers, and slow, nearly nonexistent service, what should have been a 4 or 5 star meal became 2 stars. I hope the owners of this business will take steps to fix these issues.

Snug harbor This jazz bistro on Frenchman street in New Orleans is a great place to stop. We made reservations on a Thursday night to see Bon Bon Vivant play the main stage. We had dinner before the show and it was exceptional. If you have read my reviews before, you might know I gauge a restaurant in Louisiana by the quality of their gumbo. This was very good seafood gumbo. It helped that is was a chilly December night. We also had the fried green tomatoes. They were very well made with shrimp on top and a nicely spiced remoulade. My wife had the bbq shrimp. If you have not had bbq shrimp, it is a southern delicacy. The sauce was spicy and the shrimp were large and well cooked. It had a lot of rosemary, which I love, but fresh instead of dried would really make this better. The staff is extremely courteous and professional. Overall, this is a bistro that I will return to for the food and the music. If you visit New Orleans and don’t make your way to Frenchman street, you are missing the soul of the city in my opinion.

Well, we arrived at time of opening at 5pm. Seated, inquired about the jazz act for the evening & ordered. The meal was hot, fresh and very tasty. Fried shrimp platter, crab cakes, jambalaya & side salad were our choices. Waiter was prompt, attentive & courteous. The star minus for four instead of five was the horrendous, disregard of how peach cobbler is cooked & served here and other places in New Orleans. My husband ordered the bread pudding, which was delicious!!! He advise I order the peach cobbler to go. The waiter did warn us earlier that he preferred the bread pudding because he likes crust with his peach cobbler. I am from the north, Chicago and I’m used to peach cobbler with a flaky, crusty pie dough not cake or muffin-like toppings. Please remove this from your menu, it’s an injustice to this dessert that has fans like me assuming peach cobbler is made the same everywhere. No nutmeg, no cinnamon, no brown sugar and no juice were the other missing flavors.

I’m quite disappointed with my experience at Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro. The food is nothing to write home about, but the problem was really the service. Except for the busboy, everyone was rude and unprofessional. We were greeted by a host that was unfriendly from the hello. At first he didn’t want to seat us until the rest of our party arrived, which we know it’s common practice so we were ok with that. However, the way we were informed was rude and the restaurant was practically empty at that time. The hostess ended up sitting us soon after so I guess no harm done. The waitress was not much friendlier either. She ordered the wrong appetizer for my wife and when we told her about it she gave us attitude. She in the end made us pay for the appetizer that we didn’t order and that we didn’t eat. My friend had to order a beer over and over until he finally got it and pretty much when we were done with dinner. When the check came we asked to split it. I didn’t ask her to calculate or separate items. I was a waiter myself and knew better. Instead I told her the amount I wanted on each of the two cards. She unceremoniously pointed to the bottom of the menu, where, in very small print, on the very last line at the bottom of the menu said something like no split checks. Again, I would have been fine with it if the attitude was polite but it was far from it. The food, like I’ve mentioned is nothing special. My wife had the blackened fish and I had the broiled shrimp. They were average. By the way, the main reason we went there was the jazz music, which as it turns out it was not played in the dining room but in the theater next door. I’m only mentioning this here as some other people might expect to listen to life jazz music during their dining experience at this restaurant but it won’t happen. Overall we didn’t enjoyed our experience and will not...

Had a dinner on Sat 18-Jan for the first time at this place. Initially I booked the table for 10pm for 4 people including a wheelchair user and changed to 10:30. The guy on the phone could not find my Initial booking but said “it would not be a problem to change the time if the table was booked”. So, I was very keen to double-check it upon arrival. (It took a bit of effort to get there through very busy Sat evening streets. I did not want to disappoint 3 friends). As the receptionist was not at the desk, I looked into the bistro from by the entrance area to find someone to ask. I said hello with a smile to a waitress. I was not trying to take a table. She (a caucasian lady with a pony tail and a pair of glasses) came very angrily towards me and shouted ”You have to be seated! BACK OFF!!!”. I was so socked and stepped back out of the entrance. She then put the rope over the entrance to block me out. By this time the receptionist was back at the desk. The waitress then shouted to the receptionist “this is a problem!!!”. Obviously she was frustrated with customers who were trying to take tables without being seated and hailed her frustration to me as well as the receptionist in public. This was the only one bad experience in NOLA where everyone was very friendly. The other members of staff were fine. The food was okay but nothing special in small potion and very overpriced. What a disappointment.....

This place had 2 separate parts, a bar with music (have to buy tickets) and the bistro without music. The jazz bar looked interesting but we will never go back to the...

Came here for both dinner and a show (8pm for the show). If you want to eat prior to the show then you'll have to email them with your ticket confirmation number and let them know the time. We ate at 6:30pm and was able to enjoy our meal and head straight in to grab seats for the show. They allow people to sit down around 45 minutes prior to the start so if you want great seats then I would advise eating at 6pm to be safe (we had decent seats but they weren't centered).

Items we ordered (as of 3/2022). Oysters JAZZ-efeller - $15 - This was awesome. The oysters are baked in a delicious butter sauce with spinach and they gave us PLENTY of oysters considering the price. Would highly recommend. Fish Marginy (blackened) - $27 - Great blackened flavor and the creole sauce was delicious. Seafood Platter - $36 - Definitely recommended. Huge pieces of shrimp and oysters that were perfectly seasoned and fried. Quantity was good for the price. Baked potato side (fully loaded) - $6.50 (or included depending on meal) - Fully loaded up with cheese and bacon. Delicious and would recommend. Broccoli side - $5.00 (or included depending on meal) - It's steamed broccoli... Sautéed Mushrooms - $2.50 (or included depending on meal) - Not bad for the price but nothing special.

The show we saw was Jason Marsalis and was great fun! Ticket price was $35 per person. We sat on the second floor and had a good view along the railing. Show was ~1.5 hours. No food allowed (drink service offered).

Overall we had a blast and would love to come back for the...
