UPDATE: Apparently, we were not the only table that left the show. HOWEVER, I did want to give the restaurant an additional star because they did reach out offering an explanation and said they would try to rectify this in the future.
Some friends and I went for drag brunch. It was their first time going to a drag show, so we found one in NOLA expecting a good one because NOLA does it best. Everything started off great. We made a reservation to make sure we had a seat. Confirmed said reservation when they called, and whomever called was super friendly and offered a bunch of info so we would be ready (when to get there, that they have ones available so we don't have to bring any, etc.). When we arrived, the lady who seated us was super friendly and inviting. After that, everything went down hill. We got sat at a booth that had THE worst view (we could only see when they eventually made it to the other tables). We did manage to order a round of drinks (if you wanted water you had to serve yourself, which we didn't mind) and some food. The drinks made it, but they were very small for the price. And after that....no one ever returned to our table. We were there for about 2 hours and no one came to check on us or at least ask if we wanted another drink. And our food? Well, it got served to the table next to us and they said they didn't order it. Instead of looking around to see if anyone was missing their order, they let them keep it and went to get their correct order. As our stomachs were growling and we were watching the other tables eat it. We decided to leave. We were kind enough to leave money on the table for the drinks we did receive, and decided to leave during the shows intermission. I'm sure they have great food, but I'll never know because I won't be back. I will also mention that they seemed short handed, as there were only 2 people taking care of ordering and serving (one of them being the bartender so we couldn't even walk up to quenchour thirst). But I think we were pretty patient and understanding considering we weren't even acknowledged for 2 hours...
Read moreTHIS PLACE IS SHADY... SAVE YOUR RECEIPT! Went for drag brunch. The food was not terrible, but it wasn't great either -- that being said, when we paid, the server (her name was Winter) did not bring our itemized receipt, only the credit card receipt. The amount seemed much higher than it should have been... There was no indication that tip was included, but even if tip had been included, it was about $50 than it should have been. (The menu specifically stated that tip would be included for parties of 5 or more, but our party was only 4 people.) I flagged down the server and asked her if the tip had been included already, and she said yes, that it had been added already. I then wrote $0 on the receipt, since it was already included. A few days later when I checked my credit card, the amount was $46 higher than the amount on the receipt!! So she added automatic gratuity without telling us (and without following the restaurants disclaimer of parties of 5+) and then tipped herself AGAIN even though I wrote $0 on the receipt!?!? She must have tipped herself about 25% each time from what I estimated. I think she also overcharged us for our food (pre-tip) by at last $20, because the total doesn't add up based on what we ordered. Really disappointed by this experience. Other weird things happened too... they wouldn't serve us coffee (at brunch) because they said the cafe nearby them had better coffee? (suggested we leave, find coffee elsewhere, and bring it back) Also wouldn't serve us water because they had cups and water by the front door. Just strange all around, which didn't bother me. But the blatant credit card fraud is...
Read moreOpen drug use and marginal food/service Let me start out with a little background, we were a group of 18 coming in 35 mins before they stopped food service... But hey you are a restaurant, if you don't want $$$ and customers don't open your doors. Got sat quickly and waited 15 mins before our waitress came to see us for drink orders (will leave out her name for reasons that become apparent later). By this time we had been to the bar for our waters and $5 gin and tonics with Bulldog, major bonus for them! Orders were taken in no short order, and food took even longer to make it out. The food was decent but nothing to write home about at all, especially for those seeking exciting and flavorful experiences in NOLA. Here is where it gets good... We were all tired having just arrived in town and wanted to leave, we asked for the check which was presented to us. This is where we discovered that there were a number of items that came to the table but no one ordered. We ate them so there was no question we should pay for them. I walked up to the waiters stand to give our waitress our check where I found her holding a square of wax paper with fine white powder... are you f'in kidding me? The group was very dissatisfied with the service and our gratuity reflected this... I now have an extra $13 charged to my card that I guess the staff felt was due for their time. Take everything with a grain of salt, we had a horrible experience but there are some who will likely enjoy this spot a lot. I mean $5 g&t with...
