Old Island Pub — Restaurant in New Shoreham

I visited the island for 26 days in August/September. After trying every bar, pub and restaurant on the island, the Old Island Pub is the only one that kept us coming back time and time again. Everything on the menu, yes even the hot dog is expertly prepared. Time and experience has gone into crafting these menu items. The pub fries are a work of art and are a must order. Good food takes time so if you're in a hurry or are Hangry and ready to throw a fit you might want to go elsewhere. Aside from the food, the bartenders and crowd that gather here are genuinely awesome and make the OIP the ideal place to go if you want to get a taste of life on the island. Was there yesterday during the BI Stroll. Only 2 bars open, so they were busy. Seated at the bar & we enjoyed 2 drinks each from Alicja, the bartender. I then made eye contact with her twice, but she was busy and didn't come back either time. 3rd time she walked by I said "I know your busy, but 2 waters when you have a chance please." Alicja put up her finger and shooshed me! That made it time for us to go. She found a second to come over as we got up, but we left. I make a few trips to BI each Summer. First time to the island. It was off season so most restaurants are closed. We went here on a recommendation from one of the local scooter rental employees. Early afternoon, they were very busy and obviously short staffed like most businesses in recent times. The 3 ladies on staff were doing a great job. We sat at the bar because there were no tables available. The wait for food was longer than expected but, all food came out hot and tasted amazing. Portions were average to above average.
