I popped into TigerFish after a sun-soaked beach day, ready for a drink and a chill spot to soak up the evening. What I found was a lively blend of tiki-bar kitsch and Southeast Asian flair—think bamboo décor, neon jungle vibes, sushi bar energy, and cocktails that come garnished like they’re auditioning for a tropical vacation ad.
🍹 Drinks & Vibe
The tiki-style cocktails were the star of my visit. Bold, fruity, and dangerously drinkable, they hit the sweet spot between fun and flavorful. The lounge’s indoor-outdoor layout—plus reggae beats spilling from a DJ setup—gave it a casual, island-party energy without feeling loud or pretentious .
🍣 Food & Small Plates
My friends and I split a few items—lobster fried rice, street noodles, and some small Asian-fusion bites. Everything had solid flavor, though nothing wowed. Sushi rolls looked sharp and fresh, and the general concept works: shareable, colorful island-food fusion .
📜 A Dash of Local History
TigerFish doesn’t have the centuries-old pedigree of Block Island’s historic Beacon Hill or its post-Revolutionary-era tower teams signaling British ships . But the area blends a laid-back island tradition with beach-town reinvention—and TigerFish feels like the modern twist: a tiki-infused reimagining of tropical fun in a place where tourists and townies converge.
👍 Final Take
What worked: Laid-back but lively vibe, strong cocktails, fun décor, and a post-beach hangout feel.
What could be better: The food, while tasty, didn’t match the creativity of the cocktails. And it felt a bit on-trend—fun, but maybe not essential to the island experience.
All told, I had a solid time—something easy, colorful, and breezy after a day of sand and sun. If you’re in the mood for someplace playful with good drinks, friendly energy, and a South Seas-meets-Asia twist, TigerFish is...
Read moreA must-stop every summer trip my wife and I take to the island. Two years ago, we came for the first time, and fell in love with the tiki decor and kung fu flick posters everywhere. The food was unique and unmatched by the rest of the island, a refreshing change of pace and delightful pop of pan asian cuisine. The service has always been outstanding. This past weekend, my wife and I arrived during the dinner rush. Despite the rush around us, we were warmly greeted and seated promptly. Our waitress was charming and attentive, highlighting each of our courses with her sunny disposition and friendly service. When the dinner crowd around us started to wind down, she let us know that we were in no rush to leave, and a DJ and dance party would be starting shortly. We moved to the bar, where Anna and Colleen gave us the same stellar service and perked our evening up with delicious classic tiki nightcaps. The MaiTai and drink specials here don't play around! We were very excited to watch the transformation as tables and chairs were efficiently moved by staff to clear a dancefloor without disturbing anyone still dining. In our past visits, we always missed the after hours dance party, and we were thrilled to finally have the opportunity. The musician, DJ Libre, briefly spoke to us at the bar before beginning her set. Her enthusiasm was infectious, and when her music began and my wife brought us out to dance, we felt the carefree charm of a Block Island getaway embrace us fully. I can't recommend this place enough. Charming, beautiful food, kind and hospitable staff, an interior with heaps of personality and even multiple outside dining options. We're so grateful to be able to continue making delicious memories here. Thank you,...
Read moreThis review is primarily geared towards the wait staff. We went the other night and we made our waiter aware of a fish and shellfish allergy. When the food came out they said it was prepared only for a shellfish allergy. We had to get extra clarification that the food was properly prepared as the waiter failed to communicate with the kitchen that the food was for both. This caused unnecessary panic. We when to tiger fish specifically to get pictures with the koi fish cup and they told us they ran out of the booze that went in it. When asked if we could replace it with water or soda they said no it had to be booze and it would cost the same amount 26 dollars. Just fully the cup up with water. And to make it worse they were so upset with the tip amount that we left them after their poor service that they decided to gossip about it to a bunch of people on the island. We will never be coming back here again considering that they don't take allergies seriously and that tip amounts are something to gossip about after such a horrible service. The couches out back haven't been cleaned or dusted in ages.
The food was good...
