Norwood’s Treehouse Restaurant is a hidden gem nestled among the lush canopy of New Smyrna Beach. The ambiance is a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern flair, with the treetop setting offering a truly unique dining experience. The menu boasts a delightful array of options, from fresh seafood to savory steaks, all crafted with a creative twist.

My husband and I decided to visit Norwood’s after reading some glowing Google reviews, and it was an experience that exceeded our expectations from the moment we arrived. The exterior is stunning, with the charming treehouse bar visible upstairs and the elegant fine dining area downstairs. Parking was easy, with spots available right up front, including handicapped spaces, making it wheelchair-friendly for those heading to the fine dining area.

The restaurant offers a fantastic range of seating options—whether you’re in the mood for a laid-back outdoor vibe, enjoying the lush greenery, or opting for a more upscale experience indoors, where the fine dining ambiance feels like a five-star restaurant. The multiple bars and sections throughout the restaurant each carry their own unique themes. Some areas feel more intimate and secluded, with hanging plants and the atmosphere of dining in the trees, while others have TVs for those wanting to catch a game.

We dined at the upstairs treehouse bar, which was a unique and relaxing experience. It truly felt like we were nestled in nature, with a tree growing through the middle of the bar and a live band playing in the background. It was absolutely fantastic.

Our server, Ryan, who has been with Norwood’s for over seven years, was incredibly knowledgeable and attentive. He made sure I felt comfortable with my dietary restrictions for my lactose intolerant, even crafting a customized mixed green salad for me with juicy grilled chicken, fresh veggies like tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers, carrots, and onions. The chicken was cooked to perfection, something that’s hard to do with chicken breast, but the chef nailed it.

My husband ordered the calamari and was blown away by the house-made sauce—it was the best he’s ever had. He also got a burger, which he described as the best burger he’s ever tasted. The meat was so tender and flavorful, it melted in his mouth. Ryan shared with us that they smoke their own meats, and all of their sauces are made in-house. Plus, they are USDA-certified for their meat cuts, which was an interesting fact we didn’t expect.

Ryan’s service was outstanding—he kept our drinks refilled and made me feel at ease while customizing my order, which really helped since I tend to get a bit anxious when ordering. The restaurant itself was spotless, including the restrooms, which were equipped with baby changing tables and wheelchair accessibility.

Overall, Norwood’s Treehouse Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone in the area. Whether you’re looking for casual lounging upstairs or a more formal dining experience downstairs, this place has it all. The food, ambiance, and service were all top-notch, and I can’t wait to return, hopefully with Ryan as our...

Stopped in for our first time last night and man am I glad we did. At first we almost didn’t go because google said that they were fully booked for the day. Thankfully I called to see if they were taking walk-in’s which they advised they would be happy to accept walking-in guest. So around 9pm my family went to a late dinner after a day on the beach. I was a little worried that we weren’t dressed up enough for this restaurant, but shorts and t-shirts were totally acceptable. The staff were fantastically attentive and super accommodating. When we arrived we initially wanted to eat outside and enjoy the atmosphere, however that quickly changed into we want to move inside because I was getting ate alive by mosquitoes. When I advised our server of this situation he was super nice about me requesting to change to indoor dining. He said he wanted to make sure we were comfortable while dining there. He quickly moved us inside as we requested without hesitation. Shortly after moving inside our food arrived. Oh my goodness let me tell you what the food was amazing. I ordered the shrimp and scallop Alfredo. I asked them to hold the scallops and they did no problem. My son also ordered this and kept it with both shrimp and scallops. We both took one bite and fell in love. I will say this is not a truly Alfredo sauce as I am Italian and know my sauces. This sauce was more of a Alfredo/scampi sauce mix up, but it was still very tasty. I honestly told one of my friends it’s was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had. My sons girlfriend ordered a pound of crab legs. I was shocked that it was 3 crab legs clusters in total most restaurants view a 1/2 pound by one cluster of crab legs. It came with veggies and side of your choice and 4 hush puppies. She had more food than she could finish. It looked amazing and I almost thought I had ordered the wrong meal and should have gotten what she did. My other son is very basic and picky and he ordered just a simple cheese burger and fries. He ate ever bite of it so I am assuming it was good. The kids ordered key lime pie to go for dessert it looked delicious as well. All in all we did have a wonderful dining experience here. The menu items are a bit pricey as our pasta was around $30 a plate. So if you are on a budget you might want to preview the menu before dining.I would definitely recommend checking this place out. The only disappointment of the night was I ordered the stuffed mushrooms with dinner. I can’t really say I was super impressed with them. The mushrooms were dry and just not what I expected for $15. Regardless of the mushroom experience I would still definitely go back. I would probably just try something else now. Oh and our sever was the best wish I would have remembered his name so I could give him...

So we’ve been looking for an opportunity to come here for years, and we finally had a chance to diner after hanging out at the beach. So first off, there aren’t a tremendous amount of nice places to eat in this small town. The two places people clamor about are here and the garlic, and we didn’t particularly care about the food at the garlic, so we decided to go here this time. The venue is very easy to find, as it’s right off the main road near the beach. Parking is plentiful. The venue is dominated by a large actual treehouse, so it’s essentially impossible to miss. As you approach the main entrance, you realize the place is actually super cool, and is impressive with its winding corridors, unique decor, plentiful lighting, and of course the wooden bridge to the separate treehouse thing essentially over the parking lot. Really cool. One thing to keep in mind is that the entire upstairs area is adults only (it’s a bar) so if you’ve got the kids in tow, forget about it. We opened to dine indoors anyway, which isn’t quite as cool. We had a reservation, and were seated right away. The servers were fairly prompt, kind, and attentive. Many items on the menu looked great, and right away I noticed the extensive whisky menu (which put a smile on my face as I’m a whiskey collector) they had many rare finds, and even some unicorns. I ended up choosing the old Fitzgerald’s 13yr, and wasn’t disappointed. I really enjoyed the stuffed mushrooms, but the other appetizer was akin to a very salty hush puppy, and nobody liked it. The kids had a pan cheese pizza and fries, and our shock, they loved it and ate every bit of it. We got three different fish entrees, grouper, tuna and mahi. All three were prepared well in my opinion, but my wife did not like the tuna. All dishes were a little too salty, and we prefer a little less “sauce” all over our fish. Other than the hush puppy-like appetizer, the food was ok. Perhaps in comparison to other food in new Smyrna, this food is excellent. Our entire meal came out to around $170, and included everything mentioned. I really want to like this place, and I fully recognize how popular this place is based on prior reviews. I will say that two close friends of mine who indeed live in the area both told me they don’t like this venue, and find it over hyped. Based on this sole experience, I will find it difficult to recommend it or give it another try when taking the premium prices into consideration. Next time we visit new Smyrna for a day trip, we may have to just hold off on dinner until we get back to Winter Park. For what it’s worth, I actually give...
