Utterly disappointed, dissatisfied and disgraced. I’ve grown up coming to NSB and when I became of age adored going to Taytons and never experienced discrimination until the past couple of days. Yesterday, I came in around 12:00pm saw a gentlemen behind the bar and a woman. Upon me walking in I was greeted with a look of disdain and nothing was said to me. I sat at the bar and the woman came over she was kind and asked for my drink. After she walked off, I figured I make small talk because it was the polite thing to do and there was absolutely no one else in the bar beside myself and the gentlemen. Asked if they were excited about the night because it’s always busy for the week of the 4th especially the night before on the 3rd. Again I was encountered with annoyance, shrug of the shoulders as if me speaking to this man bothered him. So I cashed out my checked tipped 25% and left. Now, today of the 4th, me and my girls decide to try it out once again and the bouncer was great. The man was there once again looks right through me and does not offer to see if I needed a drink . He is also not busy, no other guest were asking for help. Then I got the attention another bartender finally got a drink. After waiting for my drink I saw him help other guest who did not look like me happily. This experience was incredibly disheartening. When walking out I asked who that man was and I was told he is THE OWNER. You would think with social media and how things go viral people especially an establishment like a bar would treat everyone with kindness and respect. You just never know who your serving. Maybe it was just me but maybe it wasn’t. Hopefully next time it...
Read moreThe bar itself is a really nice place. I live here on the beach and went there often. Unfortunately their security is getting out of hand. I’m a 56 year old woman who just survived cancer and am now being treated poorly due to one of the employee’s there being hired by a contractor to do work on my house and he didn’t get paid. So every time this employee sees me or my husband he wants to fight us for money he feels he’s owed. Last night I went in there to have a drink and before I could even order I was escorted out of the building but their head of security simply because this employee said he didn’t want me there. The extent of bullying going on is awful. It’s a shame because we use to really enjoy going there. Now I have to live in my own town worrying about this guy jumping me or my husband for money. Sorry friend the contractor ran off with 20k of my money and left garbage bags stapled to my house with a hurricane on its way. Sounds to me with the poor work that was done ALL the workers owe me money. It’s not the bar’s fault and like I said I use to really enjoy going there but after 2 times now and being escorted out I won’t be going back. They hired someone known for violence and are now condoning...
Read moreOriginally posted summer 2019 Fantastic menu, great bartender, nice atmosphere gave 4 stars.
Update: March 2022 now its barely one star. Service is a foreign concept apparently as I was ignored for 35 minutes. I ended up getting a friend from another bar go place my order for me. It was late, I was tired & the bar was not busy. However, since I also was not drinking the staff found it best to continue ignoring me to the best of thier ability. The food was at best marginal. The exception being the "tatchos". They were truly steller which is why I gave 1 star. Without those tasty tidbits my rating would have been a negative 5 if I forced myself to be nice. I will not recommend or return there as there is zero excuse (except greed) for the horrible staff rudeness. As for the tasty "tatchos"?? I can make them just as easily at home (something I normally would not do but the staff there really is that atrocious). If you've a taste for ordinary pub grub ... nah even then I couldn't recommend this place. If however you get into rude bartenders & bussers this is the place for you!!!! Otherwise, New Smyrna Beach offers a wide variety of places with exceptional food & civil,...
