If you favor the ghetto, low-class, deplorable aesthetic this is the destination for you. Upon arrival, you’ll be met with security with inflated egos as they project their delusional faux police mentality on to guests patting you down top to bottom who rudely interrogated myself and guests which already set a terrible precedent. They barked at me “what is this!?” when I chuckled and pulled out a travel-sized toothbrush. Relax, if someone were to shoot up the club it would likely be the degenerates inside since that’s the kind of environment these situations likely occur at.
The coat check is $5, and even if you are wearing a light jacket or shawl that’s apart of your general outfit, they’ll continue to enforce a $5 cover fee. Had you wanted to implement a cover fee at all, there should be a sign instead of some disgruntled Latino man that fails to acknowledge there’s a diverse party that doesn’t speak Spanish arguing with us. Spoiler alert but we didn’t spend barely a minute inside, and he threw a fit over asking for our money back. He can keep the $5 but if that’s the price you pay to get someone to stop hollering, then so be it. He clearly needs it and that’s a reflection of this business not paying their employees a decent wage since everyone had a horrible attitude and demeanor. As a business, you should be mindful not everyone is immersed in the same culture as you.
Once arrived I informed staff my party was arriving late, only to be told if they fail to acknowledge the 15 minute grace period, we would lose the reservation entirely. I grimaced at such an odd restriction considering it’s a Sunday, but whatever. I was instructed to wait by the bar not even 5 minutes passed where I was harassed by men with sagging pants, already feeling a headache with the obnoxious DJ screeching over regurgitated Pitbull remix, wafts of strong hookah and being shoved by drunkard fools. Excellent.
We unfortunately were not able to be accommodated as the small venue was over capacity, anyone could’ve visibly taken note of that so again I had to laugh as we were aware early on this reservation was going to be a mess. Staff was rude and the women were dressed scantily, no reason to have your breasts and hair out and long fingernails when you’re working in the food and hospitality service, that’s just unsanitary. When I politely inquired to security and staff if they could recommend an alternative business in the area, the security guard sneered, “NO. This is THE BEST spot EVER.” I laughed and shook my head saying, “I’m sure. However I’m asking a very general question as I’m trying to accommodate for a friend’s birthday.” At any other establishment, staff are eager to add on menu items or for the least recommend neighboring locations to build community engagement. We were hoping to explore the area, go shopping, get dessert, but the location is inconvenient and dangerous itself as it’s near desolate parking lots and poorly maintained sidewalks. It was raining so it could’ve been a nasty spill for young women like ourselves.
He realized his ego took part in this miscommunication and stammered, “There’s two places up the block”. I acknowledged his attempt to be reasonable and we left. It’s just ridiculous to hire such a mentally weak individual twice our age employed to guard the door as if that’ll make anyone feel safe particularly when you allow degenerates inside but feel so self-important you have to raise your voice at a 5”0 100lb female. Yes, I’m sure myself and the other petite women in my circle are a threat to your business. sarcasm
This establishment highlights every bad stereotype on Latinos uptown. Best of luck if you choose to come here, I don’t think they’d value your business anyhow....

Let me start with the positive: the atmosphere was absolutely beautiful. The ambiance, decor, and feng shui of the space were all spot-on. It’s a visually impressive spot with a cool vibe—the kind of place you walk into and expect a great experience.
Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there.
We started with drinks, trying two different cocktails made with two different liquors just to give them a fair shot. Both were extremely sweet, syrupy, and lacked any real alcohol punch. Even for happy hour specials at $9, they were a disappointment—and even worse when you consider they’re listed for nearly $20 at regular price.
Next up: the appetizers. • The calamari was great—crispy and fried to perfection. I just wish the dipping sauce had more flavor. • The guacamole was fresh and tasty, but the portion was disappointing. Lots of chips, barely any guac. • The chicken wings were a letdown—undercooked and smothered in sauce. While the sauce was decent, the wings themselves weren’t cooked to a safe or enjoyable temperature.
Then came the entrees, and this is where things really went off the rails.
I ordered the surf and turf, which included a filet mignon, half a lobster, a small serving of vegetables, and mashed potatoes. For nearly $70, I expected quality. • The lobster had no seasoning, was overcooked (or possibly reheated), and topped with odd breadcrumbs that didn’t work at all. • The filet mignon was ordered medium rare but came out practically blue and cold in the center. • The vegetable “blend” consisted of 3 pieces of cauliflower, 3 carrots, 2 asparagus, and 2 zucchini slices—a joke, really. • The mashed potatoes tasted boxed and bland, with no salt or pepper in sight—and none on the table either.
The staff was friendly—our hostess and waiter were kind and attentive—but unfortunately, great service couldn’t make up for bad food and drinks.
For a tab that ended up being over $200, this experience was incredibly disappointing. The kitchen desperately needs to step up its game, and whoever’s behind the bar needs to rethink those drink recipes. If you’re going to charge premium prices, you need to deliver premium quality—and 420 Bar and Lounge is far from that right now.
Here’s hoping things improve, because right now, the vibes are better...
Read moreCurrently here celebrating my husbands birthday. Made a reservation for 8:00 our party got here at 8:15 and as soon as we sat down the manager was telling us we have 2 hour limit, which was never communicated to us. The restaurant was not packed at all. The waitress came over to our table and was giving us bottle package deals 2 for $550 so we said we will get one now and another one when the rest of our party was here there was 17 of us once the entire party arrived. The manager came back over to us and told us the time limit is 2 hours mind you at this point we were ready to order but the waitress said she can only take the drink order and she will be back in 2 minutes for the food order. After about 20 minutes she came back and told us she is ready to take our order. Order was placed after almost an hour of us being here after about an hour and change our food came out and for the delay they did give us a free hookah and free juice shots. So now our whole party arrives, we order the second bottle and they say it’s going to be $175 after they swipe the card and bring the receipt it was $383 and the 2 for $550 no longer applied because our dinner bill already was closed out so there’s nothing they could do about it but told us that they can give us a discount on the 3rd bottle they will only charge us $200. Nah at this point keep that 3rd bottle. Dinner is closed out they are mopping our section removed 3 tables from our section and it dawned on them they never brought our cake out so 5 people already left at that point. I’m going to just say never ever again will we come here. We typically go to playoffs or Vistamar and we going to continue to go there and spend our money there. $2,500 spent on horrible service, shrimp and lobster ravioli that was sweet and an establishment that lies about pricing of bottle packages. 0 stars and we got 18 more 1 star...
