Taller Cocina — Restaurant in New York

I wish that they had 0 stars for the place, because I was very upset. So I was suppose to have my 23rd birthday party at Taboga and I have been in contact with the manger that was there since November making plans, come to find out when I went to visit the place that they was closing due to them redoing the place over I found that out on January 23rd and my birthday party was on January 25th... so the manager that I was in contract with for a long time didn’t inform me that they was closing. So as I went to the place she introduce me to the lady that worked at Cocina Taller I like the place and I told her that I want to handle the party here, being that she knew that Taboga was closing... long story short I came to the place of “Business” and I sat down at a table which I thought was my area wasn’t so the lady that showed me the place was very rude to me she came up to me and asked me “Why am I sitting here and this wasn’t my seating place and that I didn’t have one” so I explain to her that I told her that I wanted to party to be here knowing that Taboga was closed and Manager told her that she was going to have a place for me at Cocina Taller. I was very hurt and disappointed and very uncomfortable with the way that she was approaching me and the way that she was talking to me in front of my friends so she made me move from the table that we were sitting next to another section, then and other managers came up to me asked me what was the problem and I explained it to them but they told me that they didn’t know nothing about my reservations which was at 5 o’clock and they told me that the place was rented out for other three parties that was going on. When I was seated somewhere none of the managers or waitress meet me or my friends comfortable aware we was at they did not attend us like they should they did not give us great customer service and didn’t service us. They were too much focusing on the other people instead of the person that was supposed to have reservations at their place of business whether or not something was not taken care of. So after a while I was very uncomfortable and me and my friends decided to leave so once we got up to leave a waitress came over and I explain to him that I was going to come back I was going to go outside to make a phone call but my friends were going to come with me so they won’t feel uncomfortable so once we got up I told him that” I’ll be back”’and he told me he already told people that they was gone to sit there because he wanted us to leave. So disrespectful and unprofessional terrible customer service and don’t know how to organize their party plans correctly like I said the other location I was supposed to have it at for what I understand they were merging with each other so whatever was going on at Taboga was supposed to continue at Cocina Taller, I would never go to that place ever again so I advise people don’t go to this place and my birthday was...

This place has changed.. so disappointed.

So to celebrate 20 years of friendship me and my friend decided to buy tickets for a mini concert happening at this location. We called in advance and they assured us that we can go sit down and have dinner while enjoying the concert. And they constantly insisted for us to show proof that we are vaccinated.

When we entered the location it was a totally different story.

Following COVID guidelines.. i don’t think so. No one was asked if they were vaccinated and the place was crowded even for its size.

How they tried to rip us off: So the whole table reservation was a RIP OFF.. after attempting to speak to multiple waiters of tried to avoid eye contact. One Waiter stop and stated that they couldn’t find our reservation. One girl took the name tag of a standing table. Because for those who wanted to sit down you have to consume a minimum of $600. And for us the so-called table of two was a tiny nightclub standing table and they asked us to pay an initial $300 for alcohol services(not including the food). So for someone that lives all the way in CT(2 hour drive) and not drinking for over 3 years that was not happening. As Place got more crowded by the minute, we felt extremely insecure and we left.

I have previously visited this location multiple times for brunch. And they previously had quality of service which made me come back again for this event. I understand that many local businesses have gone down due to the pandemic. But to loose it’s integrity to make a...

The pasta selections are delicious and crave worthy! I am happy I tried this spot again and it exceeded my expectations.

The pasta bolognese was rich and flavorful. Highly recommend to satisfy a pasta craving. My second choice would be the gnocchi pasta which is just as good in my opinion.

This was my first time ordering from Taller Cocina. The reviews and photos looked promising. I ordered the Meat Lover pizza.

The presentation looked decent upon arrival with a nice amount of toppings and sauce. However, the pizza was very cold. This was disappointing since the restaurant isn’t located far from my house (less than 10 minutes.) and I expected a hot & fresh order.

I am not sure how the food could have arrived this way. The driver had the food transported in an insulated delivery bag. The sauce was cold as if it had been refrigerated and there was no warmth left in the crust or toppings. The cheese was cold to the point it had already congealed.

This made me question if this pizza had even been made fresh to order.

I will say that despite the pizza being cold it had good flavor. The price and portion were also fair. I would try again to see if the quality is improved. If my experience is better I will...
