The food was good, the drinks are ok and the service is average. My issue is the prices. Way too overpriced for what it is. $25.00 for a frozen margarita made with house tequila is a bit much. Also, be sure to check your bill. They put a “service charge” which is really gratuity and then the waiter will tell you it’s not for him. He stated that it was for the people bringing out the food. It was 3 plates! Definitely does not justify a $30.00 charge. We had 3 entrees and 3 drinks.when I questioned the manager he was dubious on how to answer then a women approached (maybe the owner) and she eluded to it being gratuity but also said that not for the waiter. I managed a restaurant for many years and have never heard of such a charge. Just ask for prices before you order. I was with a party of 20 but asked for a separate check. There check clearly started Gratuity. I asked the lady why mine said service charge and not gratuity and she simply said “I don’t know”. The entire...

Read moreI didn’t get a chance to try this place. I randomly ran into a friend and we agreed to grab a beer. Closest place was la Catarina Mexican Bistro. I had a bike with me and asked them to let me take it inside and put it on the side cause I didn’t have a chain. Restaurant was completely empty around 4:20pm on a Monday. They said no room for my bike lol. They said I could leave it outside. Bartender and server only people at the bar lol. Not one one customer in the place at that time. Place is huge, if you ever been there. Possibly a matter of policy. Anyway, went up a block up and found a place. They allowed my bike in even though the place was tiny, had negra modelo! Had a blast. They even asked what music I wanted to listen to. So I played la diabla by xavi and mi bello ángel by natanael cano. Fun time. So that’s that. In terms of mexican hospitality, la catrina mexican bistro doesn’t live up...
