Old school Italian Superette with a new haircut .I have been coming here since 2003 ,I used to have an office at 1100 South ave .and we used to to come here and order from here love all the Italian specialties ,I love availability of the things you cannot find anywhere any more this place is like a old fashioned pork store in brooklyn ,(that's where I am from ). John is my guy he makes the best hero,s in the place with a real quite confidence that I appreciate it and he gets the job done and he is zeroed in on his job at hand and never gets distracted .So you feel like you are getting the best of him great bread is the always the foundation of a good Hero and of course the best and freshest ingredients , I just wanted to thank you John for being the best at what you do and it shows , I just wanted to let every know I never speak to him it is so busy you cant but that is ok . I buy the package of Itailan cookies in bread aisle. 5.99. They turned out to be stale. Returned them next day. I would have just exchanged them. Girl at counter said I had to wait for manager. Waiting. They call her on phone. Waiting. She calls back and wanted date and time on receipt. Again waiting. Over 5 minutes I tell the girl to forget it. I am walking out so called manager finally comes and says with a nasty tone" I WAS BUSY" I told her to have the stale cookies with her coffee and that I spend a lot of money here and I cant believe you have me waiting all this time for 6 dollar cookies. I tell her YOU EAT THEM. I WON'T BE BACK! She lost a 10+ year customer. I later find out she is the owner's sister....

Beware, and beware, and beware... Do not buy anything from this place. I bought a cake, to celebrate a birthday. After passing the cake around, and everyone eating the cake, we notice the bottom layer is green, as in MOLDY! I called A&C and asked to speak to a manager. They said we have to bring the cake back to get a refund. Ok. No problem. I went in, gave them the cake...after taking it in the back, inspecting it and returning to me several minutes later, the manager explained that they'll (do me the favor and) refund it. I said how will you compensate me for eating a MOLDY cake? He responded that he spoke to the owner and was told to refund us, and that's it. Never even heard I'm sorry, or...
