It's a very cramped and cluttered store. Not very clean and shiny but still typical of a New York deli. I want because they have a number of vegan options. I bought a whoopee chocolate cream pie. When I went to the counter and heard the price I was shocked to hear it it was $8, she insisted that I was the first one to have this reaction because vegan specialty foods tend to be more expensive. I still felt like it was extremely steep for this whoopie pie. But then she proceeded to charge me $9 because apparently there's a fee to use a credit card without even warning me. The whoopie pie tasted well enough but not mind blowing or memorable , I can't imagine I would ever be craving it. More appropriately priced at maybe four or five dollars. Is commendable to carry a number of vegan options but I feel the prices are just too steep. Especially because she did not make this in house it was something that...
Read moreWent here today thinking it was a restaurant... it has a couple different names. I thought it was Sunnyside Vegan Kitchen. I was disappointed to find out it was a corner deli. I asked to be sure I was in the right place. Starving by this point...grabbed a bag of plantain chips. To my shock, I was told the price was $5 and some changed. When I questioned the price the man behind the counter said it was because they're vegan. As stated earlier I was quite famished so I paid for the chips and left. Thinking to myself I hope they spend that $5 wisely because it's the last they'll get from me. I would like to add I did not try the the food. From what I could see the kitchen is just one of those cramped behind the counter deli grills. I should also note that they prepare regular food...
Read moreI order from this place all the time. Each time they forget something. I understand they may get busy so I don't say much. However, last week I ordered with them on seamless - 2 sandwiches on a hero and a bag of chips. It came up to $18 bucks. I get an email the other day saying that they have adjusted my order and charged an extra $8. I called seamless and they advised that they charged the 8 bucks because I wanted the sandwiches on a hero not a roll. Which is ridiculous to charge an extra $4 for one hero bread! They refused to re-reimburse me. So they charged me a total of $26.03 for 2 sandwiches and a bag of chips. Not for nothing this isn't like Sal, Kris, and Charlie's sandwiches. These are small hero sandwiches. ...
