Anna's Cafe — Restaurant in New York

UPDATE TO MY PREVIOUS REVIEW and Response To The Establishment:

Thank you for replying. First, I forgot how long it took to wait for the food in general, again, I haven’t been there in years, so ok, the 30 minutes wait time is understandable.

Second, Did you not see the picture that i posted on my original review???? I walked out of your establishment, got in my car, was still on Avenue I 2 blocks away when I opened my food in the car and that’s what it looked like. I really should have brought the food back to show you and after your response, i regret not doing so. I couldn’t turn back though so I just took it as a loss. The bread was soggy and floppy, I picked it up with my fingers and it fell apart, all 3 slices. The outside of the bread was burnt. You could even smell the burnt smell.

Listen, to be clear, I’ve NEVER had a bad experience at Anna’s EVER until this one time. This review was just to let you know.

I used to go to Anna’s all the time when I lived in the area. Since I haven’t had it in so long, and I was in the area, I decided to go buy my favorite breakfast from there, French Toast with Bacon, and WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!!!!!!!! First I waited almost 30 minutes for 2 things, then I open up my food and it’s BURNT AND SOGGY!!!! The only thing they did right was the bacon. The experience at Anna’s this time around is upsetting. I have been going to Anna's for over 30 years. I like Anna's because it reminds me of the old counter diners we had when I was growing up. The food is very good and the staff is friendly. Pre-Coronavirus, the college and the schools in the area were open. You had a wait time if you wanted to sit because the volume of calls for orders was high. The food arrives cold if you have it delivered, so I either sit or call ahead for pick up. The new owners have made physical changes to the cafe, but it still has the same charm. They don't accept credit cards, but in the past year they have added an ATM machine. Anna's is a great alternative to McDonald's or Burger King. Their food is fresh and I get a " real" burger. This is a Cafe from My childhood that I Loved. Currently, it still has Nice atmosphere. The Owner/She is Very Nice & Professional, waiter & waitress are Nice too. Breakfast is Good. I'm Just trying to start back a return after a Very confusing $10 take on an $8 order (no change given back) and a slamming of the register by the cook & walking off, whom I thought was a really nice person and me asking what is wrong! Happened btwn 5:30-6:00am, ALL TRUTH!! I loved them in the past, but something changed. A caution is now there in me with the cook! Stopped me from coming for 3yrs, now trying to forgive n' forget but after this morning its not working, think my speak out was a bit overdue, Thanks...
