Aunt Ginny's — Restaurant in New York

I used to be a returning customer who tipped very swell whenever I decided to spend money here. Not anymore though because certain staff who work here on certain days just make you not want to return AT ALL.

A lot of the staff here think they’re better than you if you’re not a hipster or emo with an acquired taste for terrible metal music with their holier than thou attitude.

In fact, I used to work the door here and I must say if it weren’t for (I Like Food), their restaurant in the back, and their awesome employees. Aunt Ginny’s would be just another dumpster fire dive bar. Shout outs to the actual good staff like Joe, Troy, Anais, Austin, Timmy, Anthony, Tiffany Ali, Mir, all the I Like Food staff who are kind and genuine people, keeping this place alive. They are the reason I’m giving this review 3 stars and not 1.

The staff I haven’t mentioned who work the bar at Aunt Ginny’s I either haven’t worked with enough to know what kind of staff they are but the rest need a training course on how to interact with others because that short tempered woman bartender with the glasses needs to stay in a woman’s place before she barks at the right one and gets herself checked

Especially after she came around the bar aggressively while insulting me and talking to me crazy in front of other customers when I only told her I’m stepping away to the restroom, when it’s only common sense that if we’re the only two people on shift, I as security have to let you know my whereabouts otherwise she’d assume I just walked off post. Then again, common sense is not so common nowadays.

And I’d like to find out this review got deleted in a last ditch effort to save face because I’ll repost it again and again until there is a positive change in service and more...

Great casual bar vibes, cheap prices and great food. What’s not to like? We got the frozen mojito, coke, pernil wrap with lemon pepper fries and Thai chili wings. The mojito was not great sadly. There were no Mint specks and I could not really taste the flavor either. I literally just tasted frozen and liquor. Like the flavor of an icee but very bland lol. I love mojitos so this was kind of sad. The coke was kind of sad too, the carbonation was weak. I like when my soda punches me in my chest with bubbles. The food was great! I really liked the wrap, fries and wings. I think the pernil was a bit dry unfortunately, I heard slow cooked and was expecting juicy like carnitas or al pastor or pulled pork. I’ve had juicier pernil before so maybe today was a bad batch. Good flavor but I can’t stand dry food. Lemon pepper fries were everything ! Perfect crunch and seasoning levels and internal fluffiness. The wings were so so good, crunchy, sweet, slight kick, and great with that squeeze of citrus. Absolutely loved it.

Definitely want to go back for the nachos, spice box, chicken sandwich and more. Definitely need to be wary of the bar but my...

Service here sucks. So bad. Came here twice and definitely won't be going back. Typical dive bar with bartenders that take 20 minutes to ask you if you want another drink and when you order one they can't seem to muster up enough energy to even acknowledge what you said. Really made me laugh when I read the sign they hung up behind the bar saying "Good tippers go to heaven"....seriously? If the owners can't pay their bartenders a high enough wage that they need to rely on customers to pay it, then at least tell them to be friendly...or human. Dealing with these bartenders was like talking to a brick wall. I'm usually not one to nitpick on service, but god this was bad. Two stars for the tasty margarita and reasonable prices, but I'm good on having to wait 20 minutes to be acknowledged when there are 3 bartenders behind the bar. It was absolutely unreal how bad the service here was and sucked that I actually had to leave a tip for...
