St. Patrick's Day
I posted the menu in photos and corned beef and cabbages roughly $27 whereas corned beef sandwich is about $ 21. Nice selection on the St Patrick's Day menu, although I don't think that the fish actually comes from the Shannon River. In Ireland there are people, companies and what have you that have what's referred to as salmon rights, that is, they have the right to fish for salmon along the Shannon River. And in Ireland you'll never get imported salmon. Everything is there and Island has some of the best fish in the world. Anyway, Austin's ale House, a local Kew Gardens place with a long history of keeping people happy. They usually have a workman's menu which is kind of a soup and sandwich or some combination of things, but discounts don't apply, like from groupon. ========================= Update 2024-Jan-29- Update
Received a flyer in the mail address to resident, and I recognized it as the postal services. Every door direct mailing system. System. So the Austin ale House is really into modern ways of reaching out to their core customer, which are the people who are close to them. Every door direct lets you pick a postal route and deliver a piece of mail to every person on the route. Typically this is a postcard up to a certain size. Anyway, there was a 20% off offer which expired January 31st. Today was the 29th so my wife and I went there and had a small dinner. Total price including tax was just under 50 bucks and 20% off. Knocked it down to just under 40 bucks, add an $11 tip, and a nice relaxing laid-back dinner with a wife. On a side note, I just had an appetizer, and their appetizers in many cases are good for two or three people. Also, the bar was full. There were a couple seats between people but for the most part it was just wall-to-wall people sitting and having a good time.

Today they installed Flat Panel TVs outside, at least one 0n the wall of the building and 2 Freestanding. Photos posted on Google/Google Maps. A very innovative action/approach in the age of Covid-19!
I was here 6/24/2018 - at the Trackside Cafe. I was also at Austins Ale House (inside) for trivia a month ago or so. Trackside is wonderful. Food is great, Service and Servers are great, atmosphere is cool, laid back and relaxed. I've added another star (up to 4) to my original 1 star review.
2nd review: My original review is below and I gave them one star. I had a casual business meeting and lunch there last week out on the terrace, and it was enjoyable. I had the Cobb salad because I don't trust their skills at cooking burgers. It was very nice. I drank bottled beer and it was appropriately cold. The wait staff was very friendly and responsive. I ADDED 2 STARS to this review.
"I hear Banjos!"
I have been to the Austin Ale House twice for meals. Neither visit was particularly enjoyable. My last visit was on a Saturday. My wife and I sat at the bar.
There were three men sitting at the end of the bar who seemed to be there with the purposes of getting drunk, laughing at each others bad jokes, and throwing crude double entendres at the bar maid. I expected banjos at any moment.
We ordered drinks and I seemed to stick to the bar, it was not really clean. The seafood bisque was lukewarm and tasted off. The Burger I ordered was pretty tasteless, it did not taste good at all.
We were saved from the coments of the Deliverence crowd as well as any conversation when the jukebox kicked LOUDLY. Literally we couldn't hear each other.
After we'd finished, the barmaid only wiped down the bar, but there were still sticky...
Read moreI really, really wanted to love this place. It's at a great location close to my apartment and looks like a great sports bar/pub from the outside. Tonight I finally tried it for the first time. I am so sad to say there is not one good thing I can say about this ale house. For starters, the decor is very outdated and looks like a restaurant but there are TVs weirdly positioned at every table playing sports. It has no vision whatsoever. The same can be said about their menu. Because they brand themselves as an "ale house" you would think their menu has classic bar options like buffalo chicken wraps/sandwiches. The only somewhat bar food options are appetizers. From there they offer a weird blend of Cajun infused foods and more upscale options. Their food is also way over priced. But honestly I could live with all of this if it weren't for this next part. First, the food was TERRIBLE. I don't know who they have cooking back there but they've never seasoned a single thing in all of their lives. There was NO seasoning on anything I had tonight. And by that I means there wasn't even salt or pepper on anything. I had French onion soup to start. The cheese was hardly melted, had no flavoring, and was not crispy. Normally when French onion soup sucks it's because it's over salted but there was nothing on this. For my meal I ordered a chicken quesadilla (an appetizer). It had a ton of extremely cheap cheese that made my stomach hurt and had no flavor. The chicken was completely plain and again, wasn't even seasoned with salt and pepper. The guacamole they paired with it was squeezed right out of a bag. Nothing was fresh. For the first time in my life, I only had one tiny piece and sent it back to be comped off the bill because it was inedible. Lastly, and worst of all the place was disgusting. The tv at our table was splattered with food and drink and looked like it had never been wiped down. The light switch on the wall right next to my table was in the same state. I barely ate anything and feel sick to my stomach. Again, I REALLY wanted to like this place but sadly I don't ever want to go back not even for drinks. I wouldn't trust the service or the cleanliness. Save your money, this place had so much potential but falls completely flats. There are infinitely better options...
Read moreWe came in to Austin's ale house for dinner. The place looks nice and clean. There is a bar on one side and a restaurant on the side. We sat on the restaurant side which is more quiet. A waiter then came to ask what we want to order, he was very nice. We ordered the buffalo wings as appetizers. I ordered the 3rd Rail Burger and a beer flight and she ordered the Turkey burger. We got beer and house bread really quick. The wings came out about 10 minutes later and we ate them for about 20 minutes. Then we were waiting for our burgers for a while. After about waiting additional 30 minutes I asked the waiter about our food, he replied that its coming in about 5 minutes saying he waited to put in the order for the burgers a little longer than he should have and that he is sorry. After about 20 more minutes that we didnt get our food, I was looking around for our waiter to ask him about it. The manager passed by and I told him that we are still waiting for our food, he apologized and said he will check on the order. After a few minutes the manager came back saying the waiter forgot to put in the order but it should be ready in 5 minutes to which I replied that thats what the waiter told us 20 minutes ago. The manager was really nice and compensated us with free drinks and took the appetizers off the bill. He apparently also switched our waiter because some one else was serving us from that point. I must say that the food was really good and if not for that little delay I would have left a better review, and since the manager compensated us for that Im giving it a 4 star review.
Im sure it is an unusual delay and that the service is good at that place, also as I said the food was really good. I still recommend...
