This place is racist. My daughter goes to school in the neighborhood and knows this is the only store that allow debit card payment. My daughter order her breakfast then waited in line to pay. The white man in line before her purchased his food paying with a debit card, when it was her turn she was told the debit card machine didn’t work and they only accept cash payments. They told her she had to go outside to use their atm machine so she can pay with cash which only allow withdrawals in $20 increments and the machine is located on the street and charges a $2 fee. I told my daughter to go back inside and tell them she only had a card. She was told “no go to the atm and get cash”. So now a child has to stand outside at an atm machine because of discrimination just to buy a $10 breakfast. And to add insult to the situation when I called the store to ask about their card policy I was told the machine don’t work. I hung up to walk my daughter through the atm process. When I call back asking how was someone else allowed to pay with a card the worker goes “ohhh yea it works now, I fixed it” so u telling me the machine worked before she came to pay then immediately after it stop working and after she pay cash now it works again. It’s bs. It’s racist. it’s discriminatory. It’s sad. And Unfair. And a waste of time when u are on your way to school and trying to eat. My daughter was buying breakfast from there all the time and because they have new workers now her card payment...
Read moreBagels By The Park is our favorite bagel store in Brooklyn. I get coffee there almost everyday. The bagels are always fresh and the people are so friendly. They also have a cat named Bagels, and if that doesn’t sell you, I don’t know what will. Even though they have great coffee, the best thing about this place is they are such New Yorkers. NY gets a bad rep for being cold and mean, but the truth is, New Yorkers may be direct, but they are also true blue, kind and look out for each other.
Last year, I asked my daughter what was on her Christmas list. The only thing she wanted was “the piggy bank from the bagel store.” It’s a plastic pig. I mentioned it to them and they couldn’t remember where they got it. We go in today at the end of March and they remembered and found her one. Nothing more New York than that. Except maybe leaving a review for your favorite bagel store. Go get a bagel and coffee and who knows, they may make...
Read moreI ordered from here through GrubHub and chose to pay with cash. I had an order that was $7 and change but I only had a $10. I expected them to charge me $8 as to not deal with change and I was going to tip $1. But, when the delivery guy came he was 1) at the wrong house and 2) he insisted that he had no change. I'm no cheap-o, but I didn't need to pay a 30% tip for a wrap. I called the restaurant and the rude woman who answered was condescending and called me "sweetie" and asked me "what do you want me to do". I called them purely as a courtesy to let them know that their delivery man had no change and that this affected my view on their restaurant. And now, I have no inclination to return. So, GrubHubbers with cash, be forewarned. Their cheating and rude people. I've had a rude encounter with them in person, which I let slide, because maybe the girl was having a bad day. But this...
