Valencia Bakery — Restaurant in New York

I usually order from another bakery on West 207th street (which is far from me) but when I found out that there was a Valencia bakery around my way, I was so excited. I ordered a birthday cake online perhaps a month prior the event. On the day of the event, I went to pick it up and the cake seems like it was made perhaps a few hrs prior and was not set and not in the refridgerator for much time. I visually saw a minor piece on the back of the cake already shifting. I took it thinking it should be okay and would be able to salvage it and put it straight in the fridge at home because I don’t live far away and it shouldn’t be too bad. I was extremely careful with the cake and not even 10 minutes later, the top part of the cake collapsed. I called the store, let them know what happened and the woman at the counter was happy to replace the cake. She was extremly nice. Later on, I did recieve the replacement. Overall, the experience obviously could have been better. Im grateful I got a replacement but it was odd that the cake was not set prior to me picking it up. I have never had that happened to me at the other bakery I go to. However the cake did taste good but I felt the design looked a bit subpar. The handwritten lettering, the icing and the placement of the beads were lackluster. I grew with Valencia cakes, it was delicious and my excitement to drive a hour from where I live now , to the Bronx, I thought it was going to be worth it ! First they moved so they need to update address, they are on 9 west burnside ( Bronx). I called and the gentlemen that picked up was just horrible, he was just like we are on west burnside, no address, I was like ok bad day but no problem, I got there and bought two cakes and honestly the cakes were not good, not fresh , creme had a aftertaste that was not good, honestly shoprite has better cakes, it was such a disappointment because I was advertising how great this cake was to friends and to family.
