Barb’s — Restaurant in New York

while sitting outside after the bar back cleared our table, he asked us, the only table with people of color, to leave since our drinks were done. there was no one waiting to be seated and no other people were asked to go despite having no drinks on their table. when confronted, he was defensive and said "this is Bedstuy most of our clientele are Black" which is simply not true of this white owned bar in a historically Black neighborhood. the fact that he asked the only Black patrons to leave without reason was deeply unsettling and upsetting. needless to say we will not be returning...

Great addition to the neighborhood and worth a trip to Bed-Stuy to check out. Barb’s is a casual, unassuming bar with a comfortable interior, good cocktails, and quality beer selection. I was surprised to see they are serving imperial pint Guinness - the bar tender even poured it properly from the draft! Very welcoming environment and a neighborhood crowd. Good speakers and music vibes....

Such a great, chill spot that’s perfectly nestled in Bedstuy. I come here for the amazing happy hour and a bar crawl on a weekend date.

If I lived in the area, I’d definitely become a regular here. Also love the names of the drinks. Very non-pretentious, yet not divey. Totally recommend if you live in the area or looking to try...
