10/10 place. It doesn’t look promising on the outside, but once you come in and sit down, it’s a whole different experience. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very intimate, dim-lit, and romantic dare I say. The interior design was very cute- beautiful mirrors all around, white floral wallpaper, chic golden light fixtures. The tables are a little close to one another, so it can get loud pretty easily, but that didn’t seem to bother the people around us.
The service was absolutely amazing. I don’t think my water cup was ever empty. There was constantly someone looking out for empty places and water needing filling. Our Samosa Chaat appetizer came out very quickly, always nice. My first bite was something like a mouth orgasm. I didn’t know I can experience so many flavor profiles in one bite. Savory, tangy, sweet, crunchy, herby and fresh, sweet, soft, cold, warm… wow. If there’s anything you need to try, it’s that.
We were off to a good start with our appetizer, and even a better ending with our main course. My husband got lamb tikka masala, with the most tender lamb pieces and SO much flavor in each bite. I got a veggie tikka masala, which was also FULL of flavor, and filled with carrots, peas, potatoes, zucchini, onions I believe. The rice that came with the tikka masala were so flavorful and perfect taste, texture, and portion size. To accompany the tikka masala, we of course had to get naan. It was very tasty, especially when it was warm. It was less fluffy than I like, but nevertheless tasted great and served its purpose.
I honestly feel like we could’ve easily shared the two meals with a third person, especially with our appetizer. They food was so filling with great portion size.
I’m not sure if it was the owner or manager, but a kind gentleman also came up to us and brought us two mango lassi on the house. That just added to our already amazing experience.
My husband and I left the restaurant feeling so full and satisfied with the food, service, atmosphere, and price. For everything we ordered, it was only $60. Considering that we have breakfast for roughly the same price, I think it’s a great price for dinner.

Read moreBengal Tiger Restaurant draws attention with its vibrant decor and promise of authentic Indian cuisine. However, my recent dining experience left much to be desired, and I felt compelled to share my feedback. Upon arrival, the restaurant was bustling, which is often a sign of a popular establishment. Unfortunately, the rush seemed to overwhelm the staff, leading to inattentive service that was disappointing from the outset. It took an unusually long time for our simple onion on the table on request and even longer for our sweet dish to arrive. While I understand that busy hours can be challenging, the level of service we experienced was not reflective of what one would expect from a reputed restaurant. When our food finally arrived, I was particularly excited to try the Rice Kheer, a dish I have always enjoyed. However, the Kheer had an off-putting stale smell, which was quite unsettling. It was disappointing to find that the quality of the food did not meet expectations, and this added to the overall dissatisfaction of the meal. Moreover, during our dinner, the staff began cleaning the floor, which was not only intrusive but also led to an overpowering smell of phenyl wafting through the dining area. This was quite disconcerting and detracted from the whole dining atmosphere. Overall, my experience at Bengal Tiger was far from enjoyable. The management should take this feedback seriously to improve both food quality and service. With a few adjustments, I believe they could significantly enhance the dining experience for their patrons. For now, I cannot recommend Bengal Tiger based on my visit. I hope future diners have a better experience than I did, and I look forward to seeing improvements in the future. Conclusion: Based on my experience, I would recommend the management reassess their service protocols during peak hours and focus on the quality of their food offerings to ensure their customers...
Read moreVery good food with affordable pricing (especially for NYC) and large portions. Staff were also very friendly and attentive. Wait can get long but definitely recommend!
Got here at 5pm on a Saturday and the wait was already 30mins. This place doesn't take reservation (contrary to what some of the reviews said) so definitely recommend getting here early or get take out. They also don't take your phone number so you just have to wait by the restaurant.
We got the 3 course prix fixe, which includes an appetizer, entree, and dessert for $25. The Keema Samosa (minced lamb and pea turnover) and Pakora (onion and spinach fritters) starters we got were good but nothing extraordinary. But the Chicken Tikka Masala and Lamb Vindaloo entrees were really good and one of the best I've had. Portions are also deceptively large as they are served in a small bowl.
1 thing to note is the spice level. The "normal" Tikka Masala is considered 4 out of 10 but honestly didn't taste spicy at all. If you like spicy food, I recommend at least a 6 or 7. The Lamb Vindaloo was a 9 out of 10, which had a pretty good kick but still enjoyable for me. For comparison, I think the lamb is on the same spice level as chipotle hot (red) sauce.
We also got 1 plain and 1 garlic naan. The plain one was just ok but the garlic one was pretty good so definitely recommend one of the "special" naans.
For desser, we had the Gulam Jamun (honeyed dumplings), which was expectedly very sweet and might not be for everyone, and the Kheer (cashew nut rice pudding), which was much better and not as sweet.
Also recommend the mango lassi, which was really good and...
