TLDR: Come here if you’d like to be profiled and mistreated by someone that takes their job way too seriously.
Would give negative stars if I could. Don’t come here.
She was an older and taller white woman with platinum blonde hair and straight across bangs. She completely profiled my husband and I. I noticed her staring at us the second we entered the store and kept her eyes strictly on us while we were approaching the display counter.
We first stopped at the Gucci display and an employee had asked us if we needed help. We said no thank you, she said ok and gave us a very quick run down of what we needed to know and left us completely alone. Every other employee there that had asked if we needed help accepted a simple “no thank you” and let us browse.
However, this woman had kept a persistent eye on us and had approached us several times while being told no each time. The first time we said “no thanks we were just looking” she parked over to the counter a few feet from us to talk with her coworker while shooting both of us looks and then came right back to ask again if we “needed help” again despite being told twice by this point “no I’m just browsing”.
When we moved to the Ditpyque booth she insisted that I have her help me and I said no thank you I’d rather look alone before I ask for help. I motioned over to picked up one of the note cards on display (telling you what notes or classification the scent falls under) and before I even made contact with the card, she says in a deeply condescending and passive aggressive voice that I “wouldn’t be able to find out any information on that” despite not knowing 1-what I was looking for or 2-if said card answered any of questions. Which it did. I have several scents from this brand. I mentioned that I already knew what to look for and where and she would’ve known that I truly didn’t need any help and especially not at this booth had she just paid a little attention instead of casting judgement.
I have never in my life been treated so poorly and with such vicious hostility. She made us so uncomfortable with our shopping experience within 10 minutes that even if we were going to buy something then we certainly aren’t going to now and likely won’t ever be a patron of a Nordstrom again considering this isn’t the first time I’ve had this experience.
If she was just overly eager to help a customer it would be one thing but I would like to disagree. I have come to this exact Nordstrom before for the same exact reason as the rest of the clientele. And I have had this same experience WITH THE SAME EXACT WOMAN last time I was there over a year ago.
We both have tattoos and didn’t look like the rest of the clientele but that is and should be IRRELEVANT. I shouldn’t have to go into a store dressed to the nines with the arrogance and entitlement of someone that had never been told no before in their lives to be a customer in some store.
Disrespectfully do better. I am deeply disappointed in Nordstrom NYC Flagship and their management of their team.
Truly an aggravating and god-awful experience. I would steer clear even if you wanted...

I took my wife today while visiting NYC to Nordstrom’s to buy her a new pair of UGS, we went downstairs to their shoe department, we located the the pair she wanted, waited their patiently for someone to greet or help us, two gentleman were in this section walked by us several times like we weren’t even there? No hello or I’ll be back, Nothing.
We waited about 10 minutes longer then walked around to see if anyone else could help. Please know there were absolutely No other customers in this section at all! Honestly we couldn’t tell who worked at the store or were customers, they dress so Casual? We asked a girl if she worked there and if so could she please help us, she said she only works in the Nike sneaker section but pointed to a guy with a clipboard that was standing there and said he was the manager?? He wasn’t greeting anyone either, we approached him and he asked a female employees to help us. My wife showed her which pair of UGS she wanted and asked for a size 7. She went to check for the size, came back and said they didn’t have her size and then walked off?? We’re like what was this? Every Nordstrom Including our home in Dallas ALWAYS offers to locate one or order it and have it delivered to our home, by Not here!
My wife told me to forget about it and for me not to pursue this with the manager that we will just get them when we return Back to Dallas.
My wife then went to the sale section and found a pair of Steve Madden suede boots, she wanted to buy these but needed to get the match to the sale shoe, again nobody to help us, we looked all around, we walked up to a desk for pick up orders that literally had 6 employees all standing there talking about where they wanted to get lunch, we asked if Someone could please get the match of the boot so we could buy them? they said they couldn’t get them and for us to go back to the manger and ask him? Where like what the hell is going in here? We approached the manger again, we would like to buy this boot and Need the match and someone to ring us up. This time I spoke up and asked where is everyone it’s hard to get someone to help us? His only response was where was the salesperson that was helping us before with that UGS?? We said she left us? He had nothing else to say got another girl to help us them she pawned us off to another guy at the cash register! Never Ever have we experienced this at ANY Nordstrom’s, we travel and shop at Nordstrom’s all over, this was a first and this is suppose to be a flagship location? Wow! Worst shopping and buying experience, we ended up buying the boots but lost our shopping enthusiasm and just left the store all together, we will shop at our Texas location, this was not the Nordstrom experience we are accustomed to and really deflated our day to shop here!
There mess to be some additional training for your management team and employees for customer service, hope this feedback doesn’t go unnoticed and that Sr. Leadership at Nordstrom’s addresses this with the shoe...

I am updating my previous 5 star review of the Nordstrom Flagship store on 57th to reflect another exceptional customer service experience.
I previously wrote about Jody- the dress whisperer who helped assist myself, my mother and my sister purchase evening gowns for my brother's wedding. I had been very rudely turned away from Bloomingdale's and Sak's who offered to help my petite mother and sister but- in words I will not repeat on Yelp- stated they did not serve individuals of my size there. BTW the average american dress size is between a size 16 and size 18- I guess those stores did not get the memo.
Jody at Nordstrom's on 57th was beyond warm, professional and efficient. She had 5 black evening gowns in my size for me to try on in under 10 minutes, while also pulling gowns for my mom at the same time. We had all our gowns altered with Nordstroms in house alteration (and having a Nordstrom's credit card we received nordstrom notes for most of this cost).
The gowns when altered were given back to us in these nice nordstroms garment bags. These garment bags are so helpful in protecting your gown and transporting your gown. I had my gown dry cleaned last week for a special occasion and unfortunately my dry cleaner somehow lost the garment bag and did not sell any! I called Nordstroms on 57th as I could not see any garment bags listed on their website. Due to some technical issues with their phones, I was connected with Margalit in the lingerie department. Margalit was kind enough to check the back for me and confirm they had the garmet bags and put one aside for me. When I arrived at the Nordstrom on 57th the next day, I was greeted warmly by Margalit who remembered our conversation and as soon as I said I was there for a garmet bag she greeted me by name and returned in 2 shakes of a lamb's tail with a bag for me. Margalit was warm, professional and efficient!!
I stopped across the street at the men's store to purchase a gift for my boyfriend and also had a wonderful experience with nordstrom employee Jazmin! I will write a review for them next to share...
