So I have to say I was soooo disappointed this evening. I have my mom at the nursing home on 106th street because she had a stroke two years ago. So I always come here to have a couple of drinks after spending several hours with her to decompress before going home. I love it here because it's always a nice vibe, and it seems like it's a lot of locals. I walked in today and bartender stared me down as soon as I walked in. The people next to him were looking at I'm like what's up! He looked clearly wasted. I sat there for at least 10 minutes and he never acknowledged me. He was talking to other customers, serving other people. It felt so humiliating. It wasn't even busy like it usually is when I get there. So I put my jacket back on to clearly to show that I was leaving. He could care less. He kept talking to the other customers and completely ignoring me. It made me feel so bad. Then I thought maybe it was because I'm Latina. Anyway, whatever the reason was, I didn't care, I got up and left very embarrassed and teary eyed, because this is where I come to decompress about my mom and this is how I was treated. All the other bartenders have been sooo sweet. Now if he's there on Sundays I don't think I'll be back. Sucks!...
Read moreBobâs is hands down my favorite local barâit never disappoints! The staff is amazing, and they have board games and shuffleboard to keep things fun, not to mention an excellent selection of beers. I make it a point to drop by every week to try the newest brews on tap. Once, I brought my sister along, and she absolutely loved the Snow White cocktail. We happened to be there during a happy hour on a Tuesday some time ago, and the bartender went the extra mile by creating a custom cocktail just for her. Another fantastic feature is that you're welcome to bring your own food or even order in. Bobâs is always my go-to spot for a beer. I even celebrated New Year's there, and the atmosphere was amazing! My boyfriend also noted that they once showed Akira on the projector. How...
Read moreI love this place!!!! I live across the street and have visited on and off since moving to NY. Then I saw a sign saying they were having a trivia night!!! I was soooo excited! I used to do trivia nights in college with my friends (team name the Brainiacs), and I missed that! I started going to Josefâs trivia nights and had so much fun! I loved the atmosphere, and the bartenders, Alex and Chelsea, made me feel safe and at home! Even when men come up to you and ask if âyou come here often,â when youâre just focused on trivia questions. I am here for the fun of trivia nights and the safety of being close to home! Treated like family is a very accurate calling card for this place!...
