I have been a personal fan of the Bon Chon chain of restaurants for many years now. So, I was so happy when a new location opened on Northern Blvd about five months ago. Yes, I agree that this neighborhood is already saturated with Korean fried chicken joints. In my opinion, most of them aren’t as family friendly as they tend to be more bar type settings that serve alcohol. This location is more of a fast-casual type restaurant and is very family friendly. We visited for the first time in early March, prior to the lockdown and was very impressed. The restaurant is very clean, bright and welcoming. The décor is modern looking with plenty of tables and booths. I think it was smart of them to have a sink near the bathrooms where you can wash your hands before and after your meal. Currently, you can only place orders by phone for pick up or delivery. They have a great offer going on right now for a Family Meal for $34. This comes with 12 wings, 4 drumsticks, 2 sides and 1 plain fried rice. It’s a pretty good bargain for this amount of food. We’ve also tried their bulgogi tacos, crispy chicken sliders and their seasoned fries. I love their wings. The soy garlic flavor is fantastic, and the meat was very tender and juicy. I love the crunch of the chicken with savory and sweet sauce. The bulgogi tacos come 3 per order and had marinated ribeye, crispy julienned lettuce, coleslaw and topped with spicy mayo. I really enjoy this dish. The coleslaw was a nice balance to the marinated ribeye. The crispy chicken sliders also come 3 per order and had fried chicken breast with cucumber, onions and spicy mayo. This location has its own parking lot which is a huge plus for this neighborhood. I find the staff to be very friendly and attentive. This location is now my go-to Korean fried chicken place and when everything goes back to normal, it will probably be the first place I go to eat out with my family.

Yassssss, Bonchon is in da house!! There are definitely other Korean Fried Chicken places in Flushing, but this one fills a void in Auburndale, a bit aways from Murray Hill and Bayside. Their spicy chicken Korean Tacos? Good. Their Sweet Crunch flavored KFC? Good. Their Hot and Spicy flavored KFC? Good. Even their pretty standard onion rings? Good. I prefer their pickled radish to their coleslaw. Either way, eat them for the palate cleanser and you'll want the fiber. Sauces, they have ketchup, spicy mayo, honey mustard, and ranch sauce available. Bonchon changed up a lot since they first came to town many years ago, but seems mostly for the better. Their decor and style is modern and their signature super-crunchy double-fried chicken is always on spot. Their boneless strips look different, but they're so much more satisfying in the crunchiness and easy to share. Their hot and soy garlic flavors are still deliciously the same, and I'm digging their newer sweet flavor - and yes, you can still order half and half! The staff that served us was pretty chill and friendly, although I suspect their management to be older from the glance I got. They have a good variety of entrées and sides too, so it shouldn't be too difficult to please a crowd. Fair amount of seating for a little area and there's a parking lot! Sweet!!

Avoid like the plague. Wings came half(at best) covered with sauce. That's not the half half I expected... quality has gone down over the years dramatically. I have never ordered koren fried chicken and received wings half covered in sauce. I used to order from bon chon every now and again, not regularly, but it was always better than this. The wings used to be very good, the food used to be very good as well. The rice was stale, the brugolgi not seasoned. The rice also had lettuce and quinoa atop it, odd choices but ok I guess. I will go elsewhere from now on, the pandemic effects are still felt in Queens dining it seemes... no complaints about the helpfulness or demeanor of the staff, but the food has suffered. Wings not covered in dauce is just so basic, this never was a concern when i used to frequent bonchon years ago. Attached is the one of many wings without sauce. Mad for chicken about 10min away on Northern Blvd does a far better job.

This particular location is located on Northern Blvd in Flushing (Aurburndale area) I know I passed it at least hundreds of times previously but never ordered or considered ordering as I would usually get chicken from other places. However, during the time when indoor dining for many places was banned and there was only take out the places to get food had been limited and I rarely utilized take out since I was eating out.

When restrictions were in place, they were only open until a certain time and had many take out orders. Each time I called in an order, it was ready when I arrived (20-30 mins). Sometimes there would be a delay in answering but understandably they were probably very busy. For the most part, each person who answered the phone was very polite and thorough. They ask for the four digits of your phone number that helps to identify your order among the other pick ups and to go. All the employees wear masks.

Whether eating solo or with a friend, the main things I usually get (in different combos depending on how hungry I am of course) Soy garlic wings (either small or medium order) - it is a combo of wing and drum stick usually. Of course they are the most well known for their fried chicken! I think their spicy might be too spicy for me so I tend to stay away from it.

Chicken strips - soy garlic and a good alternative to their boneless.

Beef bulgogi tacos - not as much bulgogi as I would like but an okay choice if you want tacos. It is recommended to eat them right away if you order.

Chicken sliders - its like the chicken strip inside a bun with toppings. Very good snack for sure. This can either be spicy or soy garlic.

Shrimp sui mai - the cantonese style dim sum item is a good starter her. They drench it in a honey dijon dressing.

Potsickers - deep fried deliciousness

French fries (plain or seasoned) - these go well with any fried chicken dish but has to be ordered separately. The seasoned fries use herb, parmesan cheese and parsley flakes. I prefer the plain fries as the seasoned ones seem to just have the stuff thrown on it. They always give packets of ketchup.

Chicken katsu - there are other places that specialize in panko crusted chicken but the version here is not bad at all. It is actually one of my go to orders because it is a nice quick meal that comes with a generous amount of rice which completes a meal for me.

The Flushing menu has other honorable mentions include the pork buns, udon, edamame, tteokboki and house fried rice. I tend to order what I usually order as we are creatures of habit but the menu has quite a few things that I have yet to try. Maybe one day soon.

**There was one occasion recently I decided to try the dine in experience. For over a year they had closed that area off and it was opened recently. They require tracing info for all patrons and the tables are divided up. When I ate their it was rather late so there may have been one or two tables of customers and everyone was spaced out. I cannot speak about their prime time hours but I prefer eating in less crowded places anyway if possible.

They gave a nice corner table. The food came out fresh and it was quite a different experience as I had been ordering take out only previously. A good difference of course. The employees did check on me to make sure I was good and brought all the food to the table in a timely manner considering they still had take out orders to do. Their BOH operations seem very well organized.

OVERALL, I would have to say that this location is a solid spot in my humble opinion. This place actually saved me many times as a person who eats later in the evening. The food is prepared in a very timely manner, the employees who work FOH are usually very polite and seem to be able to handle the online and take out traffic with a very high level of efficiency. The food, admittedly not the healthiest, is delicious...

Went here for lunch with the family and I prefer this specific branch than the other one I usually frequent.

First off, their response to covid seems more thorough than other establishments that I've been to. Besides enforcing the mask rule, upon entering the restaurant, there's a table with hand sanitizers, a clipboard where you sign in and a thermometer. The staff will have you sanitize, sign in and they take your temperature. They also have plexi glass dividers between every tables and they also have hand sanitizer on every table.

Second, ...this part is specifically for parents of babies and toddlers. They don't really have highchairs or boosters. They have one high chair and no booster seats. They also don't have a changing table in their bathrooms, which is gender neutral. I always bring travel pillows and blankets for my little ones just in case, so I had to use the pillow for my 2 year old to sit on just so he's a bit elevated and can reach the table. I also had to change him in the car. But the bathroom is definitely clean!!!

Third, their menu has more varieties of food to choose from - fried rice, sliders, more salads, 2 different complimentary sides like coleslaw and pickled radish, etc. (Check out the menu online) The food is delicious, as always. I always order the soy garlic flavored wings and I love their pickled radish. They also have a variety of alcoholic beverages to choose from. I didn't order drinks but definitely check out their drinks menu.

Overall, I recommend this place. Great food, clean environment; and if you're a parent, keep in mind that their accomodations are limited for babies and younger kids and be prepared...
