Gatecom USA — Local services in New York

Between my wife, my two sons (in their 20's) and myself, we've had a number of computers over the last 20 years. Not surprisingly, we've had a number of repairs. Some of the shops we used have gone away, but I honestly found them to be pretty good. Then I tried Gatecom, and have never gone anywhere else for repairs. It's the place to go when your hair is on fire and you are desperate to get your computer working. Max is calm, and reassuring, confident and professional.Repair costs do seem considerably lower than most, and I've never had to bring a computer back because there was something "not done right". But the first time I brought a computer to Max, I got a call later the same day. He told me what was wrong and what it would cost. I asked how soon it would be ready, and he said I could pick it up "now". I can't imagine a better place to get a computer repaired, or to buy one. Prices are very good, and you can talk to Max and tell him what you want to use the computer for, and he will help you find the right one for you.

Today I brought in my son's Mac to replace his hard drive, and got a much better price than the price he had been quoted at another shop. I wouldn't think of going...

I had a monitor that failed that was part of a triple monitor set up, normally when a monitor fails you go and buy a new one but in my case I wouldn't get the same visual. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to get it fixed. I came across Gatecom USA . I decided to call them they told me they would look at it. I dropped it off a few days later they called me and told me they can fix it and would need to order parts. I felt relieved took a little over a month due to them receiving the wrong parts the only disappointment I had was them not updating me on the issue they had wich led to a longer delay other then that they fixed it so far so good and I'm happy. I'm definitely coming back and I highly recommend them and they got a nice looking shop with lots of gadgets wish I could've stayed longer. I owe you a hand shake....

Rating this store 2 stars because while they did fix a laptop in 5 days which is now working okay, they keep extending the date my computer will be fixed:

They told me it would be done in 9 days, but after waiting 11 days I was told that the arrival date of the new motherboard they ordered was delayed. They did not even update me on that. The next day I am told they got the motherboard, but it was corrupted so they need to order another one. This is the second time they extended the date my computer will be fixed.

I will be writing another review if I even get my computer back in the "half a month" time it will take them to order and replace a motherboard. I have been very patient with them, but at this point I am wondering if I will even get my...
