Bondurants — Restaurant in New York

Updated to add, another time I went I got the chicken tenders (pic added) and they are INCREDIBLE! Best in the city. They come with an amazing BBQ sauce and a flaky delicious biscuit. This place is something special! There is just something about a good burger at a cozy neighborhood bar on a cold night. Bondurants is perfect for this, loved every moment. Nice and full on a Friday night but we managed to snag a table and each got the burger and IPA fries. Not a bite was left behind! The service was also impeccable, our server was so friendly and gave excellent beer recommendations when my boyfriend's first choice wasn't available. I also got the Fizzy Lifting Drink and thought it was the best cocktail I've had in awhile. Yet another gem on the Upper East Side! Can't wait...

First off the food and atmosphere is great. The tall blonde bartender, however attractive and hardworking, needs a lesson in customer service. No smile, no how's your day going. Nothing. You don't have to be my shrink but give some minimal form of effort. It's literally your job. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and assume you were having a bad day but I didn't get that vibe. Noticed three girls behind me waiting for seats at the bar so I closed out quicker to give them a spot. As I'm leaving he sees the girls approaching the bar and lights up like a kid in a candy shop...so maybe you really like the ladies. Fine. I felt completely unappreciated. I wonder if I'm alone. The other bartenders...

With a very heavy heart I leave this review. I brought my friend here who is going thru a difficult separation. I imagined this place would do wonders amongst a handful of other great late night spots in the city. But as soon as we arrived the tall handsome Caucasian bartender was unnecessarily curt with us. As soon as we ordered our drinks he closed our tabs even thought 1) we did not say we wanted our tabs closed 2) none of the patrons did not seem in a hurry to leave 3) we happen to be the only non Caucasian patrons in the venue. I wish I could chaulked this up to us being rowdy and a bit too tipsy but alas this is too much. Bondurants does not like asian men. Please do better for...
