I had a script from my doctor for physical therapy for severe lower/upper back pain. I called Spear Physical Therapy, as my doctor has said they were the best. But I never even got a chance to go by the receptionist desk.SPEAR Physical Therapy called Me at 238 pm, after receiving a referral from my doctor. My original appointment was for 2:30 pm, so why did they say at 2:38 pm to go up there, if they knew they could not keep my appointment time? They told me the best thing to do was "To come up to E84 Street Anyway" Which I did.then they rejected me, because I was late! I was ready to go there at 10 am ,but it was indicated to me repeatedly, that it was best to be seen with a referral. (All I had was a script) My physical therapy script was pretty much like the referral they eventually accepted, which was re-sent to them, the same day I called them. I had to indicate that My Dr. had referred me to Spear Physical Therapy, but the script they accepted mentioned no such thing! When you do not feel well, you have no time to be treated so disrespectfully! It’s great that they are so busy that cannot see anyone at the present time, so I can take myself to an establishment that can see me.Physical Therapy is not rocket science, and there are plenty of other places to go to besides Spear Physical Therapy. The good news is I am so angry, that I actually feel a little better! And...
Read moreThese guys are amazing. After a year and a half of dealing with pain that completely impaired my ability to run, I was diagnosed with iliotibial band syndrome and prescribed PT. From my very first session, I knew I was in good hands. Joe is an experienced and intuitive physical therapist (he's also a runner!), and the entire SPEAR family--from the friendly reception to the PT assistants--made waking up early on Tuesdays and Thursdays worth it.
We started with sessions twice a week, along with daily homework and exercises--no running allowed. After a month or so, I was let loose to run a mile or two. It wasn't always smooth sailing--there were bumps along the way and flare-ups of pain--but Joe taught me ways to manage and recover from them. What really stood out through all of this was his empathetic coaching and positive attitude, even on the days when I felt like I should just give up running altogether.
The hard work paid off. This morning, I ran my first race in years--a 10K. I went from literally being unable to run 2 miles without stabbing pain in the side of my knee, to running 6.2M in under an hour pain-free. Thanks, SPEAR family, and especially Joe, for making...
Read moreA Life-Changing Experience with Kashish Shah
In my opinion, Kashish Shah is an outstanding physical therapist. From the very beginning, it was clear that she was deeply committed to helping others heal. I am incredibly grateful to have had her as my therapist.
To be honest, some of the exercises she recommended were challenging—even painful—but I never hesitated to return because of the trust and connection we built. She not only helped me physically, guiding me through my scoliosis treatment, but she also supported me mentally.
What sets Kashish apart is her ability to understand the emotional struggles that come with physical recovery. As a young man working through anger issues, imposter syndrome, and anxiety, I finally felt like someone truly saw me. She helped me accept my inner struggles rather than suppress them, offering exercises that strengthened both my body and my mind.
For any young men struggling with their emotions and looking for a physical therapist who truly cares, I highly recommend Kashish Shah. She didn’t just help me heal—she helped me find a new sense of self.
Thank...
