Meta Church — Attraction in New York

My wife and I moved to the city from TN about 6 months ago. During that time we have been eagerly searching for community. After searching the internet for churches, and attending some, we finally came across Meta. One Sunday a couple of weeks ago we made the bold choice to go to a service in person. Before we even got into the building we were met with smiling faces, and welcoming people introducing themselves to us. As soon as we stepped into the building, that did not change. To our surprise, we were greeted by Ricky and Krista, the lead pastor and his wife. We were surprised by this because it was the first time we've been to a church in New York where the church leadership made an intentional effort to introduce themselves to unfamiliar faces and get to know each and every person in their community. An immediate sense of peace fell over my wife and I because we have been searching for community in this big city for a while and it was the first time God was giving us a sense of belongingness. When Ricky is preaching his sermons it feels like he is speaking directly to me and he does not separate himself from his sermons, instead he puts himself right in the middle of it creating a sense of equalness between himself and his church. In the short time we have attended we already feel like God has given us a place to call home. We are excited to see where this new adventurous community takes us!

A little over a month ago I was hunting for a home church because I had walked away from the church for about a year and was starting to feel very distant from Jesus. I Googled churches near me and landed on Meta church. I am still convinced till this day, it was not by accident. I Tussled about going back to church again for about 2 weeks but then decided to check Meta out. The second I walked through the door the greeting team and everyone else was so kind and welcoming which made my heart so happy. Pastor Ricky preaches the truth about Jesus and backs everything up with scripture. Pastor Ricky also talks about a lot of important topics that most pastors nowadays shy away from. He is super humbled and relatable. I genuinely love how Meta church represents God and His kingdom. I am so grateful that the Holy Spirit lead me to Meta. Anyone who is looking to hear the truth about Jesus and God’s word, please come check Meta church out. I promise you won’t regret it.

I'm pretty new to Meta (and new to the faith as well for that matter) and I'm so glad I found this church! Within minutes of walking in for the first time Ricky, the lead pastor, came over and introduced himself and welcomed me in a very sincere and friendly way. Set a good tone right off the bat! I've been going for many weeks now and really appreciate the sort of modern, non-denominational format (it's like "hip" for lack of a better term). I had been going to a much more traditional church and immediately found that Meta was just so much more relatable to me as a 34 year old guy who was starting his walk with Jesus (there's lots of other people in their 30s). Meta also seems pretty active in the community and I have the impression that the church is growing and evolving and always trying to keep things fresh and helpful and inspiring.
