Bowled — Restaurant in New York

I always go to Bowled when I am in Troy and always have had a great experience, I can't say that about tonight's visit.

When I walked in at 6:55 p.m. (closes at 8:00 p.m.) one of the workers gave me a look as if I was bothering them. The girl that took my order could care less. The register was taking awhile and she then proceeded to get on her phone, when she took my order I just requested 1 kind of lettuce. Well when the order printed out the same girl went in the back and kept coming back out to talk to the guy that was making my order. She constantly distracted him and chewing on her fingers (disgusting). When he finally stopped talking to her and started making my salad, he put the wrong ingredient in and I said to him "that is wrong, that is not what I asked for" well the girl came out from the back again and started joking with him laughing and said why did you do that, he responded that is what was on the order receipt. Well needless to say, he stood there picking out the wrong ingredient and looked at me puzzled. Well when the lettuce went into the salad, it was wilted. Also, in between all this they allowed an individual to sit inside with a cat, it's a food establishment where people eat, there should be NO ANIMALS. Needless to say, I wont be going back and you should really hire people that want to be there and...

Food is usually good when its made correctly. Ive had plenty of times where theyve made my order wrong so i make it a habit to have them read back my order. When i ordered today apparently that was a problem because the female worker huffed and gave me a snotty attitude about it. They also stuck my bowl in the fridge when i ordered a grain bowl and they always warm the chicken. So when i picked up my order i was confused and made a comment about how its usually never in the fridge because the chicken is warmed. The woman at the counter with dyed red hair gave attitude when she "offered" to heat it up, then sighed loudly and walked away when i asked her if she could, and i explained that i was on my lunch and couldnt heat it up myself. I went on my way, and while i was eating my lunch i also found a piece of carrot that seemed to be rotting as it was very brown in color. Its also impossible to order through the phone half the time because they just dont answer. Ive seen it happen whether theyre busy or not. Again, the food is usually good but the customer service needs work. Its becoming a problem and im beginning to dislike this place...

The food is a bit over priced for what you get. 16$ is a lot for a bag of spinach with a few very small portioned toppings & a tablespoon of dressing. To add I always order the same thing and it is rarley prepared the same.

The girls here from my experience have always been friendly but I don't agree that they request a tip prior to receiving any type of service. Tips are based on the quality of service rendered. I'd be happy to tip, but not until i know how the service was! Especially difficult to "prepay" a tip while paying 16$ for a salad That's near identical to the salads market 32 offers at half the price.

The restaurant itself is fairly clean and its interior is comparable to other bowled locations, its fault lies with the people that surround it. You may have to walk through a cloud if cigarette or Marijuana smoke as you enter or listen to the occasional yelling of profanity and arguing from the folk that ....occupy? the...
