This place is a literal hole in the wall. if you live in the area, you are better off getting take away. That said, the food is quite flavorful even if you feel like you're studying Center seat on an airline and having dinner. The chicharones are crispy and chewy and quite flavorful. We had the pork and the salsa creates a different flavor. It's always a good dish when you can have it one way, and then add a salsa and it changes into a different thing. It's like having two meals in one. You may have to stand there and wait, and when you actually get to sit down you will be sitting very close to other people or sharing a table. I don't know how it compares to other Colombian restaurants in JH or nearby, but our dinner was fun and relaxing. The customer service is 100% perfect, and it's always a good sign when the tables are full of locals and families from Central and South America. I will admit our chicken was a little dry, and the beans somewhat bland. But that's been our finding in most Colombian meals (the beans, not the chicken). So many good places to eat in the neighborhood, and while I won't quickly recommend this place when someone asks "where is the best..." Finally ate at Brisas after hearing so much about it and, oh my God! Words won’t do it justice. The flavor is like no other Colombian food I’ve had in the US. We ordered our food to go and, while waiting, they had 12 people waiting for their sopa de tostones and carne molida, which totally surpassed its hype! Absolutely amazing! My husband ordered that and I ordered a bistec encebollado. The quantities are huge!
