I brought my wife + kids here for Mother's Day. We had been here once before and I had more positive memories of it - I'm not sure whether the restaurant (and its prices) changed or if my memory was just inaccurate. What I can say is that we won't be headed back. The prices are in many cases astronomical for what is so-so food and, at least on our visit, subpar service. $20+ for a burger for our son with nothing on it and what appear to be frozen french fries. $23 for fish + chips with two smallish fish fillets and, again, a big basket of ok fries. Cocktail prices are standard but they're mixed pretty sugary and low-alcohol.
In terms of service, there were a lot of staff members around, the top floor was only half full, and yet service was not attentive. My drink came relatively quickly but my wife's took 15 minutes or more - this being Mother's Day, I was sitting there awkwardly waiting for her well-earned drink before I started mine. We ordered the kids two Shirley Temples and they restaurant seemed to forget about them until I inquired 10+ minutes later. They were also out of the salmon (my daughter's pick) which seemed surprising for a seafood restaurant on the weekend, and then they brought her the clam chowder instead of the crab chowder that she ordered. Maybe the server was new, but we didn't really get any acknowledgement of the issues and definitely did not get any token discount off of our final $230 bill.
In summary: The views from the upper level are lovely, the vibe on a crowded summer day (during non-COVID times) is fun, some of the seafood dishes (like the crab) are pricey but well executed... but our overall feeling was that we had just paid way too much at a tourist-oriented place that didn't really care about our experience, just our dollars. It would be a fun place for a casual group if you have...
Read moreWent here with a few friends on a Sunday. The place has a wonderful beach side bar seafood vibe. It’s very vibrant and fun with a great energy. We were excited to try their lobster rolls but were disappointed by the time we got there they were sold out (2:45pm on a Sunday). The lobster roll was the main reason we went here and were surprised they were sold out because this is their claim to fame. So we ended up ordering king crab rolls which was okay at best (granted it’s not lobster it’s crab but it wasn’t satisfying) and as a starter I ordered their salmon tartar which was a special for the day. The salmon tartar was served over smashed avocado and long grained rice and it was a complete disappointment because the rice was cold and undercooked. If this was served over sushi rice it would have been a much better dish.
Since they said they ran out of lobster rolls I would have thought they ran out of lobsters but I saw people being served lobster which was surprising because if you have lobster you can make lobster rolls. Unless these dinners ordered before selling out. I neglected to ask the waiter if lobster was still on the menu or not so I don’t know.
As far atmosphere and vibe I love the location but in-regards to food it was a disappointment. I may try it out again if it’s another...
Read moreNice views on the upper level. I would say if you’re in the area definitely head over for a beer with friends. Whatever you do, DO NOT go here to eat. And definitely don’t travel from far away to eat here. FOOD IS TERRIBLE. Cooks do not care what they are putting out. And clearly neither does management if there is any… I never write reviews, but this place really needs to get their stuff together. It’s almost criminal to charge people for the food quality they serve. Went two days ago bill was $174 for two people. We had one cocktail each. Ordered mussels which was probably the best item we had. The broth was tasty but they served it with slices of stale untoasted bread( psychotic). Cornbread was hard like a hockey puck pretty much inedible. Ordered a crab roll and a lobster roll. Both were extremely underwhelming especially at a $30 price point. Lobster roll is served cold style but they give you a cup of warm butter. Makes zero sense. We also ordered “ smash “ burger, but this was a frozen over cooked hockey puck. (See photos). My girlfriend and I left here, extremely dissatisfied with the food left on the table after a few bites and had to go somewhere else to get a decent meal right afterwards. Save your money and go elsewhere....
