My friend and I walked here today to see if we could have a glass of wine outside now that NYC is in phase 2. We found out they are not selling glasses of wine just yet (that’s the next phase) but we could choose to have a wine tasting or buy a bottle to take away. We decided on a wine tasting since they had spacious outdoor seating with great views of the East River. We were also the only customers there until later on in the day, so it was perfect.
The reason I’m writing this review is because our server was absolutely FANTASTIC. She was really welcoming when we arrived and walked us through our different options and how to book the tasting. We had our two pups with us, she brought them a doggie water bowl, as well as water and an unopened bag of pita chips for us. She took care to explain each wine, as well as let us take our time between each tasting to talk and catch up. We didn’t feel rushed at all, only super comfortable and welcomed. I also felt like she was taking great care to stay within the CDC guidances not only for us but for other customers.
Because we did the tasting we also got 15% off the already reduced priced wine we bought! We definitely plan on visiting again in the future because this...
Read moreCool space, lovely views but the wines are terrible. Do not go if you care about the taste of the wine you consume. Also, the servers can barely tell you about the wines so it's not really a tasting experience.
About the wines... The white blend (Christopher Nicolson's Ste Agnès) was the first pour. Outside of being an awkward blend of sauvignon blanc, chardonnay and riesling, where nothing brought out anything, it tasted like the cork had gone moldy. Rob Foley's Sauvignon Blanc was the best of the 3 whites. Abe Schoener's skin fermement chardonnay tasted diluted and flat as a wine. The Reds were just as bad if not worse. Nicolson's syrah was undrinkable. I am here to drink wine, not a weird flat, grape flavored sour beer. Again, Foley had the most drinkable wine, his cab franc was very typical of the Northfork/Southold peers and easy drink with friends on a Sunday. Abe's red blend was also disappointing. Less flat than the white but too dry and heavy on the tannins, with a hint of bitter but not in the good way of adding a dimension as it could in some wines. I only drank Foley's 2 wines, the rest in my opinion are a waste of wine drinking capacity and all went...

Came on a Saturday for the tasting. Was sat fairly quickly and the glasses were waiting at the table. However, it took a significant amount of time for anyone from the wait staff to realize we hadn't been served, which was a bummer. The same thing sort of happened when we were ready to move from the white to red section, with two separate people asking us if we were ready and saying they'd come introduce us to the second half of the tasting.
The space itself is gorgeous. I will say we paid for a tasting table for extra money, but this was not super worth it. Would have easily had a better/the same tasting if we joined the communal tasting table.
We were given a bottle of water as soon as we started without glasses, which is fine- I'm happy to remind them to give some glasses. However, it was fairly difficult to get refills of this bottle of water. I wouldn't harp on this if we weren't in the midst of a heat wave and we hadn't stopped in here when it was 90 degrees.
The wine itself was good! But it took a long time to get here. The views are stellar, which is what this spot...
