MÉXICO 🇲🇽 Eat the World NYC review: Chasing some ghosts from Michoacán, a couple recent visits instead turned up some really talented chefs and and an interesting 9 year history of this South Sunset Park Mexican restaurant. Originally opening as a fine dining establishment, the city's non-Mexican food media was determined to put these Mexican chefs in their place and called their prices "astronomical" from the beginning. Apparently only white chefs can charge a lot for Mexican food if the Village Voice et al had their way. Well after some years, the menu reads closer to your typical Sunset Park varieties, but there are still some gems and the quality levels are definitely higher than your standard platos fuertes.

To the owner, What do you charge for a small cup of coffee? I want to make sure I was not ripped off by the cashier. This morning I walked in and was not told the price. The small coffee charge was $3. Imagine my surprise. I go to a diner in Bayridge on 95th St and 4th Ave. they charge for the same size $1.25 and the coffee is hot and good. The coffee was not even a big deal and it was not hot but warm. You are in the 60th street area. You are over charging your customers. I have been in better places in sunset park and have been charged a reasonable price. I gave you a 1 star, it is actually a 0 star. Very upset.

Good food but one of the waitresses is extremely rude. She made a mistake on our order and refused to acknowledge it. We called to pick up food which included two orders of quesadillas. She instead only gave us two quesadillas. Each order is $14 and has three quesadillas, while a singular quesadilla is $6. When we went back to get the rest of our food, she charged us $24 for an order of quesadillas (includes 3) and for one more that had been missing in the initial order. Meaning, we ended up paying $36 for for 2 orders of quesadillas. After we called to complain she hung up on us, and when we called back she interrupted when we tried to explain what had happened, yelled at us, and then hung up again....
