On September 12th at 9 PM, I went to this restaurant and ordered one burrito and one chicken bowl, as I always do. When it came time to pay, I was assisted by an employee named Jaidae. I used Apple Pay, and after tapping my phone, she told me my card was declined and asked me to try again. I did, but later, when I checked my bank app in the car, I realized I had been charged twice.
I immediately went back to the restaurant, showed the issue, and Jaidae assured me it was just an error and that the charge would be refunded within three days. Three days passedānothing. I went back to the store three different times, and each time I was met with excuses and no real help: ācome back tomorrowā or ācall customer service.ā Why should I have to call customer service to fix a mistake caused by an employee?
After the fifth time going back and getting nowhere, I finally called customer service myself. They asked me to provide my receipt and a detailed explanation, which I did. Hours later, I received their so-called resolution: because it had already been three weeks, they claimed they could not refund me. Instead, they said they had āgiven feedback to the store.ā That was their answer.
Frustrated, I called my bank and disputed the charge directly, which should never have been necessary in the first place.
