I live in the neighborhood and have been eating at Clark's diner for over 20 years. On 3 separate occasions, I have placed an order based on what is stated on their menu. If management has decided to no longer sell that item that is specified with the description of the order than take the item off the order. It has been over a year that when you order the pork chops they no longer provide apple sauce with the order. Then take it off the menu. That is false advertisement bc you are not providing what is advertised. I also requested sautéed onions with my pork chop. They charged $3.00 for the onions, and they would give a generous amount of onions. Now they give you a little cup you put ketchup in and charge $2.00. I have to order 3 cups and is not half the amount of onions they use to give. You are not even offering a substitute for the applesauce. I ordered a Clarks burger which states it comes with a pickle and coleslaw. It does not say you have to request the coleslaw and pickle separately. It is a one line description of the food. I placed my order for a pick up, and when I got home there was no pickle or coleslaw. I called back to the restaurant and was told, I didn't say I wanted the coleslaw and pickle. It is specified on your menu as a one line order. It does Not say you have to ask for each item separately. Who does that?? Apparently honesty no longer works at Clark's restaurant when it comes to the bottom line. I realize times are hard, but to mislead your customers is totally unacceptable. I called back and when I explained that was wrong and I placed my order based on what is stated on their menu. I said I want to eat my coleslaw and pickle together with my burger and have someone deliver them to me then. Yes, I was upset bc this is not the first time they have switched things on the menu verbally, but leaving it on their menu. I asked them when my items would be delivered and was told when the delivery person comes back. I had just left the restaurant and it was empty, they were not busy. The worker said I was yelling and hung the phone up on me. I'm done trying to figure out their menu. I don't like bait and switch when I'm just trying to order food. It is not that serious. They called me back about 20 minutes or so later and I told them, I'm done. I prefer to leave a review as to what happened and I hung up on them!!
Oh yeah, my...
Read moreThis WAS a go to spot for me. I usually do take out or delivery and eat in the comfort of my home. The exchanges between the staff and I up until this point were always pleasant. But Today my partner and I dined in for the first time for our anniversary. That was a mistake for sure because our server was rude and ignored us the whole time. From the get go he took almost 15 minutes to take our orders. He didn’t even have the decency to mention his name. His back was to us several times checking in on others around us being very personable and cherie . He was a shorter latin guy with glasses and a mustache. He shouldn’t be treating people like that. We would’ve gave him the benefit of the doubt if he were just like that with everyone but the tables adjacent to us got the exact opposite treatment and being that we’re POC and the others around were not definitely stood out. I don’t like making assumptions but the writing was on the wall at that point. My food was served first and my fries were room temperature. But 10 minutes later my partners food and fries came out with hers piping hot. It didn’t make any sense. Not once was he apologetic about anything. He ignored us the whole time but when it was time to pay that’s the only time he looked in our direction so he can get us out the door. The only person who was truly apologetic a bit was the person I paid on my way out. The other servers were playing games when we asked to speak to someone, they pointed in the direction of the bathroom, but when we eventually spoke to management we still left disappointed and dissatisfied. I’m a pretty easygoing person but that was by far my worst dining experience ever and I wouldn’t wish that treatment on anyone. It’s really...
Read moreThis review is only for the server. I have only been to Clark's on the weekends for breakfast and only since August, but have been there several times. The management seems to really care about the restaurant and the people who come there and the food is consistently good, but for some reason on the weekends on more than a few occasions we have had subpar servers. Today all the server did was take our order and we waited so long that when the food came the pancakes were cool inside and the protein was maybe room temperature but not hot. I could see the manager keeping an eye on things, he saw we still hadn't been served and he must've said something because our server then came with the food. Between taking our order and bringing the food to the table after quite a bit of time, we never saw the server once in our wing of the restaurant. The table across us had to signal to the manager for the check because they were also waiting for some time. Nobody came to refill our coffee, or check to see if we are good or needed anything. Really no service beyond taking the order and bringing the food to the table late. Granted, this restaurant is very busy for weekend breakfast and perhaps there are other things going on that are out of the control of the server as I don't want to be not understanding, but for the price I would at least expect hot food and a...
