Party of 4 we booked a 6:45 pm reservation. Upon arrival, we were met by security staff, two of our party had already gone through the door, , Put on stop us and made us join another Queue on the left-hand side and wait to be called through. I tried to explain that we had a reservation and half of the party had just gone through the door but he was not interested, We waited for a further five minutes before he then allowed us to go through the door, I think it was more of a power trip about being in charge of the rotating door than actually Organising a line outside .
Once inside we spoke to what seem like a coordinator of tables, who then moved us to the front of another queue and told the people who were stood at the front, waiting that we had a priority because we’d reserved a table. This upset the line of people that have been waiting there to sit down who didn’t have reservations. (Not well coordinated)
we waited a good 10 to 15 minutes before a table became available (Although it’s worth noting at this point that there was many people leaving from a very busy area further down the back ) When we asked about this Quarter, it didn’t seem to understand what we were actually saying we were trying to advise her that if all these people were leaving Shirley was tables empty down the bottom, But she didn’t seem to have a clue what she was doing, so I asked if we could go and see if there was any tables down there. She said that she would be Called on her radio when there was !!! . I asked why was it possible to book a table reservation with no tables available and why if it shows that these tables are full , that people were allowed to queue and wait for spaces ..!! Does this not mean that those that haven’t booked were simply just taking tables that have been reserved ?? The coordinator didn’t have an answer for me, and just said I don’t know,.!!
Another thing to mention was that nobody checked our booking, so we could’ve said we booked even if we hadn’t.. To be fair, it was totally chaotic, but we managed to find a little table to the left. It was becoming available and shouted over that we could fit on that one.
The waitress came over , she was polite , and friendly, when taking our order she kept stopping to shout instructions to other people that were bringing food out because we were going to the wrong tables , This was happening all over the restaurant, and you could see people putting food down and then picking it back up and taking it to another table , it was very loud and a lot of shouting was going on., but besides this there was an atmosphere to the place .
Food wise Hennessey chicken wings Sticky Boneless chicken wings Spicy chicken wings Pulled pork burgers-well done Brisket burger -med-well
There was plenty food and the portions were massive. The food tasted good, although the brisket burgers were more rare than medium - well done .
Everything that we didn't eat we took in boxes and gave it to those living on the streets.
Overall, it was okay, Not too pricey and you do get a lot of food, maybe consider sharing portions! Frozen drinks were delicious, But I think the set up of reservations And general organisation on arrival needs to...
Read moreI am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment with the service I received during my visit to your restaurant on July 25, 2025, around 8:00 PM.
My server, Sayed, repeatedly ignored my table 10X while giving full attention to another table literally just inches away. At no point during my meal did he check in to ensure everything was okay. The level of neglect was not only noticeable but unacceptable in a dining environment.
When I addressed this concern with the manager on duty — an Asian male wearing glasses — I was met with combative and dismissive behavior. Rather than investigate my concern thoroughly, he immediately sided with the server. The manager brought the server over to my table, and I was told, “But ma’am, the waiter said he constantly checked up on you,is that not true.” which was a blatant lie.
earlier five minutes after I was seated, I had previously told the server he could answer a question that the other table had who already had food on their table— not because I was unwilling to order, but because the male guests who was on a date at the next table interrupted me while I was placing my order. I allowed the server to proceed with them so I could finish ordering without distraction since apparently they needed so much attention. That does not excuse the complete lack of service or follow-up afterward.
I pointed out that there is a camera directly above the table, which can clearly confirm that the server NEVER once returned to check on me. Still, no real effort was made to resolve the issue or review the footage.
Additionally, when I was leaving, I asked the Spanish woman at the front door with long black hair, who the general manager was. She claimed not to know — a response that came off as deliberately evasive and unprofessional.
I eventually found the general manager who I spoke to about my encounter and experience within the staff at the restaurant that evening, and he told me literally that he couldn’t do anything about anything but apologize, which left me incomplete disbelief.
In addition to that, as I was walking downstairs, I happened to look up and each, and everyone that I’ve made a complaint about was just staring down at me from the railing as if they were ready to brawl.
This kind of behavior, from both your waitstaff and management, reflects a troubling lack of customer care and accountability. I strongly urge that your team receive immediate training on guest relations, complaint resolution, and professional conduct. Confronting guests with the staff there complaining about or dismissing their concerns on a busy dining floor is unacceptable and never ok.
The food and drink was GREAT otherwise I will not be returning to this establishment, this is the second time that I’m writing a bad review with Dallas BBQ’s establishment I’d hope things were different from the last visit, but I guess they’ve gotten worse especially when you have a so-called manager have a showdown with who said and who did what on the dining room floor if I did that with my restaurant, I would be fired smh.
I will be sharing my experience...
Read moreWe were looking for somewhere to have Easter dinner while visiting NYC. While roaming the city a few days prior, we came upon Dallas BBQ. They had a sign out showing some yummy looking drinks, which caught our eye. After looking over the menu we decided on eating here that night. Their was a line outside, but it moved very quickly. When we arrived upstairs, we felt as if we were at a Chuck E Cheese without the games. Kids running everywhere, super open concept, loud, and mostly tables super close together...few booths. We were greeted fairly quickly by our server. He took our drink and app order then came back for our dinner order. I was still deciding on a cocktail as the drink menu had a great selection and I was having a hard time choosing. Our appetizer arrived and 10 mins or so later two sides of Mac and cheese and a taco salad was brought out. Another 10 mins later the rest of the dinners arrived. The Mac and cheese dishes were sides to the dinners that came out later, which was odd. Everything that we ordered was good! Sticky ribs were a hit with my son and the wings were awesome, but could have used some seasoning. All the food was brought out by other servers and we still hadn't seen our server since our food order was taken. All of our drinks were empty so we stopped a passing serving for refills. We sat for about 20 mins after we had finished dinner talking and waiting for boxes....still haven't seen our server since our food order was taken. Finally, my fiancé waived down what we thought was manager asking for boxes and a check. He tried explaining that I had been waiting to order a cocktail and that we hadn't seen our server since our order was taken. The manager had no interest in what we had experienced. He asked what we needed, grabbed the check and boxes and seemed annoyed that we were complaining. We had 2 older teens and a twenty year old...all in which ordered dinners, not kids meals. I have served in my younger years and we tip 25% and sometimes more depending on service. This server NEVER CAME BACK TO OUR TABLE AFTER TAKING OUR ORDER!!!! Where is that even acceptable at? And to top if off, they added $15 gratuity to our check without it being posted anywhere. My fiancé told the manager and the server as we walked out that they better be glad the tip was added, because he would have been the first server we ever stiffed! We got zero service from him and couldn't enjoy our dinner! We were needing refills, napkins, and wanting to order additional items with no service! Shame on the manager for not even acting as if it was a problem that his server didn't provide us with the service we deserved, nor did he even offer any sort of free appetizer or even an apology for the inconvenience! Terrible all the way around! The food was definitely good, but the poor service would probably keep me from...
