Danish Gourmet Grill — Restaurant in New York

This deli opened relatively recently (about a year ago- replacing a run down deli that had been there for years). Since it's re-opened the food quality is way better and a completely different experience. The tuna is fresh & tasty as are the cold cuts- they have excellent quality overall and the guys behind the counter are great... they know how to make a sandwich, they don't skimp on the meats and will prepare it any way you ask them quickly and professionally.

The fact they're open late is icing on the cake. They could offer a little better variety when it comes to desserts or chocolate treats but overall this shop is a hidden gem and my new go-to...

The staff here is nice and for a small space the inventory is varietal.

When I was in tonight and ordered a sandwich at the deli, I expected it to be really good. And it was, until I saw pieces of plastic on both halves. Happily, I noticed them before I could eat either.

And I wasn't planning on posting a review until I called the shop, intending to tell them to ask the deli staff to triple check the food so this does not happen again. Someone picked up the phone and went on to ignore me while talking with others.

Learning moment: if you're too busy to answer the phone at your shop, you need to hire more staff. Or maybe you're not in the...

I’m not kidding this bodega is the best one I’ve found in all of New York City. My friends and I went in there last night and got a chicken Quesadilla and I don’t think I’ve ate a better quesadilla in my 23 years. We came back 24 hours later to eat the same thing plus more (that were all equally delicious). Mike, the owner, and his brother are not only the kindest men but they are so accommodating. They said “if there’s anything you want that we don’t have here let me know and I’ll have it here next time.” Too bad I won’t have to experience that because the variety is out of this world.
