I recently visited Alea/Skinfinity for a HydraFacial, as advertised. However, my experience was truly disappointing and appalling. Firstly, the HydraFacial machine they were using was off-brand and was malfunctioning throughout my facial. It was leaking throughout the entire session, all over my face and dripping to the point that the facialist had to use towels to wipe my face and neck and cover my shirt. She kept apologizing and stopping the facial. Additionally, the facial was supposed to include oxygen infusion and LED light therapy, neither of which was given. It is a clear case of false advertising, leaving me feeling misled and cheated out of the full experience I paid for. However, what truly exacerbated the situation was the unprofessional and rude behavior of the owner. When I and the facialist raised my concerns, instead of offering an apology or attempting to rectify the situation, the owner proceeded to argue with me. She was dismissive and made obscene comments. When asked what could be done to address the issues, the owner responded with, "Well, what do you want me to do?" She argued with me, claiming the machine had just been fixed. This lack of accountability and refusal to take responsibility for their establishment's shortcomings is simply unacceptable. This is not the first time the owner has acted unprofessionally. I've gotten microneedling done here where she argued and behaved repugnantly over a tip. Overall, my interaction with Alea/Skinfinity was distasteful and deeply unprofessional. I strongly advise anyone considering visiting this establishment to avoid it altogether. There are plenty of other reputable spas that uphold professional standards and provide quality services, and this is certainly not one of them. I also want to note that this establishment uses two names to conduct business--It also goes by Alea Aesthetics...
Read moreI'm putting photos because you won't believe it without them lol. Olga has made made me look 10 years younger - and no needles. She gave me a Fibroblast treatment on my eye area (upper/lower) and in between eyes plus forehead. A week or so later I followed up with Fibroblast on the sides of my nose, my lower face, chin and neck. The after photo is from Day 14 from the eye area treatment so you can see how quickly results showed up.
Here was my experience:
The results are worth it but there is downtime, so plan ahead or do on a long weekend. Afterwards, it felt like a sunburn and within 60 minutes I had zero pain. Again, results were SO worth it!
You will have little scabby "dots" all over so you won't want to be out and about initially. These dots don't hurt at all. You can see them in my After picture around my nose. But they do take several days to fall off. Once they're off you can see your results and that's the amazing part.
The "elevens" wrinkle between my eyes disappeared, the texture of the skin on my nose improved. My nose folds shortened, and under my eyes wowza what a difference there.
My jawline is much much sharper. I can see the profile I remember from my younger days showing up again. My blobby double chin tightened up and my jowls shrunk. Even my lips got better, the increased stimulation of collagen resulting from the Fibroblast tightened up the skin above my lips and made my lips a little bit fuller. This is all from just one treatment.
I highly encourage you contact Olga. She gives 200% and she truly cares. She is fun to be around and her office is beautiful, serene and super convenient in NYC. I trust her and she really cares about helping you...
Read moreSo. I bought a Groupon pre pandemic when they were affiliated with Midtown Laser Spa. I couldn't start using until spas reopened. I started my sessions when they were in a different location in the city. I believe it was after my 2nd session the manager called to tell me that they were moving and they didn't do laser in the new space (E58th) because it wasn't worth it for them. I pushed back because I already paid for the service so she says she going to "do me a favor" and let me use my sessions. Fast forward to session #5. She walks in to tell me that that will be my last session because I was difficult with scheduling (previous week they made an appointment for me and text me without confirming; I responded saying I was not available that day and they never got back to me. I had to follow up twice to make the last appointment I was seen for so I already knew something was coming.) Again, I push back. She then says I have taken to long to use my sessions (This was June 25 - my Groupon expired on August 25, 2021 so I had one more session left at least). The tech then proceeds to tell me - in a very condescending way - that I was getting a free service because they were doing my upper and lower legs and those were 2 areas not 1 so every time I went there I was getting "free services". I had to show her the details of my Groupon so she would stop trying to shame me with her eyes. Honestly - 3 stars for having a cute, clean space but terrible customer service experience for me. Even after I showed the tech the expiration date and that the service area included both upper and lower, I received no apology. Would obviously never...
