I lived at MHES two summers in a row for an internship in Midtown Manhattan. The location at 39th/3rd between 3rd and Lex was amazing. Super close to everything (5 min walk to GCT). The staff, particularly Stanley and Roy, were amazingly attentive and very helpful with any requests. I had a 1 Bedroom Deluxe Apartment with Two Queens and found the suite to be HUGE for NYC standards — must be at least 900 square feet. I reccomend requesting a higher floor (10+) on the back side (I had a unit ending in 08) as the back faces a courtyard and is very quiet. There was a full kitchen (which was also very large for NYC standards) with a full fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, dishwasher, large sink, and lots of cabinets. They provide all plates, cutlery, and pots/pans, and I’m sure can give you anything that’s missing. The living room was also large with a full queen size pull out (they will bring you extra sets of sheets and pillows for it). There is a flatscreen, although not a Smart TV, so we plugged an Xbox into it and it became one (get a Roku stick if not). The WiFi worked well, sometimes went down but they were able to help fix it. The front entrance had a large closet, as well as one next to the bathroom (seriously you won’t ever get this much closet space in the city). The air was always flowing and the apartment was cold. The bedroom had two full queen beds and another double-sized closet (you won’t even need it because of the other closet space). I kid you not the beds are some of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in. Again, the staff is amazing and although the building is very dated, it is kept very well and is very clean. The housekeeping even comes around once a week to clean the whole unit and will leave new linens/towels whenever you need. The 24/7 doorman is also very nice, you can leave keys with them for friends to come or have them receive your packages. The elevators are a nice addition, there are two of them. In the basement, there is a small “gym,” there is a treadmill, elliptical, and a set of dumbbells — even better, there is a small private outdoor space back here that is hidden (definitely nice for some fresh air in the city). The laundry is also in the basement and there are plenty of machines, but keep in mind each wash/dry load is $3.00 (they have quarters at the front desk if you need). I paid splitting the unit with a roommate and was able to use two credit cards no problem. Although pricey (around $6k a month), Murray Hill East Suites is definitely worth it as you save a lot on other added expenses for a short term rental you would’ve had to...

I should start by saying that I moved here from a one month stay at The New Yorker Hotel on 34th street to a one month stay here, in need of more space than just one small room & a full sized kitchen to utilize. In comparison to Murray Hill Luxury Suites, the New Yorker is a highly over-rated location. Upon Check-In at Murray Hill, the Concierge desk and the entire Housekeeping and Janitorial staff were extremely welcoming. They've made all accommodations possible to assure my Service Dog & I have an easy going stay here. They were extremely considerate of my broken femur/shattered knee injury and have provided every day door delivery services for everything I could ever need here; bedding needs, toiletries, ample appliances & much more. Here they have a highly maintained gym with a variety of machines that does much justice to my recovery needs. Plus a very private outdoor cool-off area attached, which avoids having to go all the way to the main entrance just for some fresh air after a rigorous workout. Down the hall from the gym is a very clean and well kept laundromat which is so much more convenient than walking blocks, seeking for a laundromat, with injuries such as mine. Housekeeping keeps a large array of supplies to maintain cleanliness and order for all 15 floors of the property. At the end of the day, housekeeping agents head home but housekeeping services never stop. I say this because whatever you may need after hours, front desk Concierge will make sure to provide it. And if you've stayed anywhere else in the city, you must know that concierge is never as helpful as housekeeping. Here conducts customer service so much differently & I really appreciate it. As for the apartment itself, it is full of light as it has xlarge windows all around. Each window provides a wonderful city view regardless of what room you're in. & Every single room in the apartment is EXTREMELY spacious & carpeted for maximum comfortably. Last but not least, my one month stay here was over Dec. 1st. After alllll that they've done for my service dog & I, as if it wasn't enough, management offered a discount upon check-out. I've checked back in for months to come.
Like I said, words simply cannot describe the confortability provided here at Murray Hill...
Read moreI booked 2 apartments (3 beds each) for 10 adults + 2 babies. All of the adults are couple up and the babies were to sleep in the same bed as the parents so we really only needed 5 beds, but they told me that the 6 I had booked might not be enough to accommodate us (???) , but they would call me back and confirm. NEVER CALLED ME BACK.
I called again the next day and a different man answered so I thought I would have better luck. He told me the same thing. He said it should be enough, but he will call back to confirm. My main goal was to make sure I wouldn’t be charged any hidden fees once I got there because they felt the apartments wouldn’t accommodate us. NEVER CALLED BACK!!!! So I tried to call and call, but never got an answer.
This place didn’t seem professional whatsoever and I was not trying to get charged tons of money after my stay for whatever reason they could find so I cancelled. It was FREE CANCELLATION for both apartments. They day I cancelled, they charged my card $160.
So I call and the man says he will talk to someone else about it and call me back in 30 minutes. I was hesitant to let him hang up because they NEVER CALL BACK and he said he will call me back and if he doesn’t I can call them. I waited 2 hours for him to call back and surprise surprise he NEVER DID. So I called back and told him that yet again he failed to call me back and he responded with attitude saying that he actually told me to call him??? I haven’t called y’all enough?????? I ignored it because I was so ready to be done with them and he asked me information about my card and my booking (something he could’ve done on the first phone call, but they seem like the push things off with “we will call you back later”) and then told me they would return the money and he didn’t know why I was charged. I said okay and hung up. I immediately called back to get a confirmation number and without looking up anything, he gave it to me and I went to confirm the number I had and he had HUNG UP! Tried to cal back and no answer. Hoping I get my money returned to my card in the next few days.
TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. From other reviews, it seems they constantly have hidden charges and sometimes charge for no reason PLUS the other reviews mention how disgusting the rooms are. So glad I did not end up...
