If you know Harlem, you know the best meals often come from the most unexpected placesāand Deli Boyz is proof of that. Tucked right on 134th and 7th, this spot might look like your average corner bodega, but one bite in and youāll realize youāve just stumbled onto something special.
Letās start with the lamb chopsābecause, wow. Seasoned to absolute perfection. Each bite hits you with a burst of flavor, smoky and savory with just the right balance of tenderness. Thereās some kind of green sauce or herb blend on topācanāt even tell you what it isābut itās magical. It ties the whole dish together like a secret chefās kiss from uptown Harlem.
Then thereās the macaroniārich, creamy, and cooked just right. No mushy noodles here. Itās got that homemade taste, full of buttery flavor and perfectly cheesy goodness that makes you close your eyes for a second after the first bite.
Now, the atmosphere? Letās be realāitās a bodega. A good one, but a bodega nonetheless. No fancy dĆ©cor, no candlelit tablesābut when the food is this good, who cares? You come here for flavor, not ambiance.
If weāre talking stars, Iād give it 3 for atmosphere but a solid 5 for flavorāso letās call it a 4-star gem overall. Deli Boyz is the kind of place you tell your friends about, the spot you go out of your way for when you want real Harlem flavor that speaks for itself.
Final Verdict: š„ Hidden gem. š½ļø Lamb chops that could go head-to-head with any high-end restaurant. šÆ...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe waited for over an hour in line. There's a door monitor, and he only lets 5 people in at a time. When you get in, the person behind the counter tells the first person who comes in where to start the line. You make your order. You pay, then you leave. We ordered suya but it's not the same suya that you'll get from a Nigerian restaurant what you're really getting from here is Dibi with suya seasoning, onion and some green stuff over the big chunks of lamb. ( there was more green stuff on the lamb instead of suya). The lamb was tasty but I wanted suya not dibi. Do not travel to this place. If you live in the neighborhood ( east Harlem or west Harlem) and have plenty of time to spare then get in line and wait for Senegalese food , if you live far do not waste your time. My peoples from Da Bx you guys have plenty of options in your borough you do not need to come here. You will need a pedicure after leaving this place because your feet will hurt from standing in the line for so long. Will I ever go back the answer is no. I've had better dibi and I didn't have to wait so long to get it. Do I recommend the answer is no my name and reputation matters. It's was social media hype that lead me to this deli. Beware of Social Media Hype. Google asked me how long did I have to wait for a table. Clearly they don't know what a deli is... it's where you get chips...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't know I'm a little confused with the reviews on here. But to each is own, I guess.
I tried Deli Boyz for the first time yesterday and returning later today with my daughters. The food was great, made to perfection. The service was a overall great too. The lady that works there keeps things in check, she saw me standing there and made sure I got serviced and wasn't forgotten.
Let me just say, I see A Lot of complaints about how expensive the food is, BUT can we please get into the portion of food we receive. I was able to share my 1 tray of food with my 3 daughters, so that says a lot. Total came to $38 for the Rib Eye and Jollof. And honestly I was surprised to see how much food was giving and in that moment I knew I was sharing it. So yeah, I get the "oH tHe fOoD iS oVeR pRiCeD" reviews but please get into the portions. Don't leave that part out.
I'm returning today to try the Rasta Pasta, and Salmon. And rib eye for my daughters because they absolutely loveddddd it and this is coming from PICKY EATERS!
I low-key feel like some reviews is to really tarnish the business. And I hate that low vibrational energy. Lol and on the other hand I know some reviews are legit and was their experience but come on. Give them a break, they really doing their thing! I said...
