What a disappointment! I’m really sorry to leave a bad review, I don’t do this often, but sometimes it needs to be done and owners need to hear opinions of their customers, which hopefully will help them make some adjustments in the future, if, of course, they care about their business.
CONS: Cake. The cake was just ok (we got a slice of carrot cake) it was dry and a little too sweet. It was similar to the type of cake you’d expect to bake yourself at home from any recipe you find online even if you have no cooking/baking experience. Definitely will not crave a slice of that cake in the future.
Presentation: 1 out of 10. If you have a nice looking bakery and not a bodega, please do not put your cake in a black plastic bag. This is just so disrespectful towards your own product. Not to mention that all slices are already precut and prepacked in translucent plastic containers, which is not something you as a customer want to get, when you pay $$.
Price. $10/slice. I have no problem paying $10 for a good slice of cake, however this one simply does not worth it.
Choices: very limited. There were only 4 different cakes available, which would not be a problem if all of them tasted amazing. Clearly, this is not the case.
PRO: although the bakery does not offer any seating, it does look nice inside, the Christmas decorations make the place look cozy and warm.
To the owner: I really hope you stay in business and make adjustments. This neighborhood needs a good bakery, there aren’t that many around. However, when you charge $10/ slice, you need to bring your game up, so that your customers recommend your business to their friends and family rather than discourage them from ever going in there. Please go to Balthazar bakery in SoHo or Martha’s Country bakery in Queens or Williamsburg. This is your benchmark. They charge their customers 30% less, but the product is SO much better!!!...
Read moreOrdered a red velvet cake with a 3 weeks noticed since according to him, he is so high in demand and payed a deposit. Once the day came, went to pick up the cake which was not ready. I was blamed for the cake not being ready. Was told I ordered the cake too in advance and that I should of confirmed closer to the pickup date. “Cake Man Raven” is VERY RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, basically told me, if I would of reached out to the number I had to TEXT my order to, I would of known that my cake order would not be fulfilled. Then continued to be nasty and unprofessional. Told me to come back in 30 mins to pick up the cake (which I already had payed a deposit of 40$ for and they do not give refunds.)The cake was very dry! Cake was not fresh at all. Cake was so old and dry that when I cut into it, it crumbled. I was embarrassed because I purchased this cake for a big work birthday party and it was completely disappointing. Do not waste your money buying old cakes from...
Read moreI place an order via their site more than month in a half ago for 2 sheet cakes as a gift for a friend’s birthday on June 15th for a red velvet cake. No response as to whether order was received or my apologies we are unable to place the order. This is absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. You are unable to call them & if you do you are instructed to place your order via text and you cannot speak to anyone! You go in person and then hope someone is able to assist you and when they do they inform you if you placed the order via text & not in person they cannot assist you. How antiquated can you be!!! Which is a shame since the cake taste great and someone else recommend me to place an order. However how do you expect to build your brand if you cannot appropriately communicate with your customers from the community. It’s Horrible customer service!!!
Never received an apology or anything or any response! Utterly...
