I made a reservation for Saturday night, indoor dining, 6:45pm. The reservation process was quick and easy, and I liked the reminder feature. My friend and I get there, greeted by two friendly security guards... then we go inside. We are nearly blasted out the door by the obnoxiously loud music a DJ was playing. The hostess YELLS (because she had to) at us, asking if we were there for the party. We say no, that we have a reservation. We are then told that because of the party, there is no indoor seating (remember, we had a reservation) and we can sit outside. We thought they would have enclosed tents or something out back, but no, just tables, most of which were set up for said party. Did I mention it was a chilly rainy night on Saturday? The music was blasting through speakers at the bar. We were asked if we wanted to sit there (again, the reservation was for an indoor table). We decline and are given this tiny, wet table squeezed in between the bar and a pole. We couldn't hear each other speak, and decided to leave. We told the hostess and her response was simply "okay". No apology, nothing. If they were going to have a raucous party take over the entire restaurant, why didn't they black out the date so no reservations could be made? Or, since they saw I had reserved an indoor table, why didn't they contact me to let me know the situation? I'm very disappointed in the lack of professionalism, especially since they had such an...
Read moreNice outdoor area The yard was done nicely - service started off very good - then our waitress disappeared. If not for the new waiter/busboy who started in July- we would had no service to pick up the slake she left behind -
Food was very good - in fact - excellent. Our shrimp scampi pie was one of the best i had. .... yet - When Table that arrived after you are having appetizers and you didn’t even get drinks yet - that’s a problem. Same table was also FINISHED with dinner that arrived after us before we even received ours —-
Drinks - my pear Martini was absolutely watered down. Made her redo it. It was 13 dollars, fair price- average for the island. Second martini was a cucumber mint and was 17 DOLLARS- this is not peter Lugar - or even bocellis - it’s a local bar/Pizzera !!! 17 dollars for a martini is insane . The manager was very snippy with his defense- well - it’s a straight alcoholic drink - I get that - when I asked hi how much is a dirty martini - still straight alcohol martini, he said it was 13 . Was the food good - yes - will we be back - absolutely not ! Food is not worth the poor management and...
Read moreWent to District on a Saturday night with a few friends and had a bad experience overall. The place was super crowded, and the back “outdoor area” had terrible ventilation—it reeked of cigarette smoke the entire time.
What made things even more uncomfortable was the number of obvious minors there. I’m 24 and I felt out of place. It’s wild to me that underage people are getting served so openly.
To make matters WORSE, the older bartender with long dark hair and sleeves refused to give us water because I told her I could only pay with Apple Pay. Then, she told other staff members not to give us any water cups -insane, maybe even illegal- mind you, my friend had just spent money on drinks. Denying water over Apple Pay? Really weird, uncomfortable and so petty.
Bad service, mid music, way too packed, and it smells awful. Definitely won’t be going back. The only positive thing I have about this spot is the bouncers, who escorted us out while agreeing that it’s crazy the reason we were being kicked out (asking for water).
Better off going to Brooklyn or Jersey, I’d just skip this spot 100%, unless you wanna drink...
