Dog Day Afternoon — Restaurant in New York

I LOVE this place. Excellent service, amazing fresh food, and fun vibes. Me and my partner just moved to this neighborhood, and the workers went out of their way to get to know our names. We feel so welcome. They say hi to us every time we pass.

Not to mention, the hot dogs are INCREDIBLE.

Also their fries have no business being that good! Get the fries. Underrated menu item. I personally love the chili dog. There is something so warm, fun, retro, and cozy about this place that is perfect at any time of the season. No matter the weather, it’s always a good experience at Dog Day. We love the people that work there. They are just so nice. It’s also super well priced. They also have this little reward system where you have a stamp card for every dog you get that eventually leads you to getting a free hot dog! Super fun. They also sometimes sell comics and records as well, it’s a really unique aspect to the whole place. It’s a small area, you can only eat outside but that’s totally fine bc it’s such a vibe on the benches and tables they have set up. We pass it every day and are tempted to go in and eat one every time. The smell is immaculate. Go here, you will not...

10/10 - I'm now a groupie. Take me to Dog Day After-Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Dessert. First and foremost, congrats on making it through the first year. Second, I hope this treasure stays in business for eternities because I want generations in my family to come here and have a sweet, serendipitous treat like I had.

For our first time, we went big and I would encourage you to do it exactly the same way.

2 x Chicago Dogs (Perfect & no gimmicks) 1 x Italian beef (The first I've ever had and the bar has been SET!) 1 x Fries (Damn!) 1 x Vanilla Milkshake (Perfect consistency too - wild)

DDA is just straight up easy, fun, delicious, and familial. The kindness from the crew was unparalleled and I will not hesitate to rave or recommend DDA to everyone for days to come.

The three things I am hoping for on my next visit! I hope they expand and are able to put seating out front and have a really awesome eating area. This place deserves it all Gonna ask if I could have au jus on the side so I can control the level of dip. No fault against DDA! This is personal preference

This is the third consecutive time I've arrived here hungry, and left hungry. When they have food and service, it has been excellent, which is why I return. A month or so ago I arrived and they had a sign on the door that they had run out of buns, and would be back soon, a few weeks ago I arrived craving a Polish Sausage, only to be told they were sold out, and today, on my way home from the gym.... Another sign on the door. I actually joked to myself on the way here about the chance of not getting fed, but it's not very funny, and the probability of me going out of my way to come here shrinks to near zero.

If this were the first time it happened, I would not say anything. When it happened on my second consecutive visit, I held my tongue. If it happened 3 times over the course of a year, with plenty of successful visits in between... I probably wouldn't say anything. But 3 visits in a row sort of meets my standard for "give the business another chance".
