My family quickly pivoted to a staycation in NYC during the height of Omicron, and found Sanjay and his Indian cooking classes as an activity for the 6 of us. We had such a wonderful time learning about Indian history, geography, culture and spices. The food Sanjay cooked with us was delicious and we've already used his recipes again. After our evening together, Sanjay followed up with us to give us store recommendations for both kitchen gadgets and spices. He was delightful to be with for the hours-long cooking class. For a delicious, super fun and experiential group activity, I highly recommend Sanjay's in-home Indian cooking workshops!

Sanjay is awesome. He taught me about the origin of Indian spices (cumin, coriander, garam masala, etc), their migration through the spice trade and their importance of these spices in Indian cooking - primarily to create harmony and balance in the body, it's medicinal (ayurvedic) purposes and how you build the spices in layers as you're cooking. We made Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer, Dal Tadka, mint cilantro chutney, cumin basmati rice and lamb kadai. Everything was delicious. I can't wait to try these recipes again, build on them and continue to expand my knowledge of Indian cuisine. Thanks Sanjay!

Best cooking class I’ve ever taken. Sanjay helped with figuring out the menu based on our tastes and experience level, provided historical background on cooking methods and spices, and gave a lot of tips throughout the class. It was fun! And educational; none of us had ever cooked Indian food before and he made it feel accessible and shared where we could get specific spices/tools. Definitely recommend it to anyone looking to take a cooking class.

My family loves to cook, eat and learn. Finding Sanjay and having him come to our home to teach us Indian culinary skills was an absolute gift! We learned not only how to combine Indian spices that serve as the foundation for Indian cuisine in the various regions of India, but we received a wonderful presentation (and discussion all the while we cooked) addressing the spice trade, influence of war and religion, local geography etc. throughout India over the course of history. By the end of our lesson we were clear why each region has it's own way of combining foods and producing specific regional flavors. What an amazing cultural history, no wonder Indian food is so nourishing yet complex.

On the practical side, we were re-introduced to cooking with a pressure cooker (something my parents had done in abundance when I was a child and I'd forgotten) and other cooking supplies that make cooking for a family with kids an absolute dream of ease flavor and time saving - and the baby loved it all.

Sanjay is professional - clearly an entrepreneur of many talents who could do anything he chooses in this life. His manner is personal and to the task at hand, he travels very efficiently with all tools necessary for making a feast. His cooking style reflects this efficiency in a manner that is a lifesaver when time and space in the kitchen are at a minimum. He tailors his menu to suit your needs and can handle anything from complex flavors, meat, vegetarian to special breads.

Highly recommended. We will have him back for round...

For my wife's 50th birthday I bought her an afternoon of Indian Cooking with Sanjay. It was an incredible experience for the whole family. My wife and two young sons participated in the class. Sanjay provided an excellent foundation by presenting a slide show of the geographic history of India and how its' cuisine was impacted by invasions and the silk road, etc. It was fascinating. Then Sanjay discussed the importance of spices in Indian cuisine. He discussed the nature and importance of layering spices. He is passionate about his subject and it is hard not to be affected by his excitement. He took the family through several Punjabi courses. My wife and boys worked on the spice mixtures, rolled out dough for puri bread and baked Tandoori chicken. Sanjay spent close to five hours in our kitchen and the place had an incredible aroma. After Sanjay finished we all dined on some of the best Indian food I've ever eaten. The next day we drove to Patel Brothers and bought ingredients based on Sanjay's recipes. We are hooked.

I highly recommend Sanjay. He is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, very approachable and he comes with a bag of tricks - his bag holds all his cooking gear, plus all the ingredients for the diverse menu. I was very impressed by his ingenuity and organization. Thank...

Sanjay is a wonderful teacher and not only teaches you how to cook the specific dishes, but gets you excited about the entire cuisine and the ---- behind Indian cooking. He spent an hour showing you how the different regions have the methods and foods and spices that are --- to them. I could have done without it, but my husband Loved it and I suppose since it was his birthday present that's what matters. While I didn't enjoy the history lesson, I do think it may have helped to understand the internal workings of dishes and be more excited about what we were cooking.

We made dishes that were healthy and delicious and that we were easily capable of duplicating to make again. We learned so much and enjoyed the lesson. Definitely worth it and the fact that he brings most of the cookware AND the food is awesome. He cleans up after himself and gets you making the food with him so that you get hands on experience and doesn't make you wait until the end to start sampling as the dishes are finished.

Within a day of finishing we had ordered new fresh spices, a pressure cooker and made 3 of the...
