Read morethis was my second time visiting Dudleys. the first time i came, myself and a friend ordered two sides of fries, which were fabulous except for the fact that at first neither order came, then when we mentioned the missing orders fries to the server, they brought only one. then, the second side of fries was still on the bill despite never showing up. but whatever, it wasn’t a huge deal at the time. i went back today with other friends, i ordered the little gem caesar salad with grilled shrimp. a friend ordered the chicken roll. after the server repeated the order and left to attend to other tables, i realized that the server didn’t mention the shrimp for the salad so when they returned i asked about it, and they said they had chicken down for the salad. i was like, oh no it’s shrimp for the salad and then there’s a chicken roll. the salad came and i had a few bites before realizing not only was there chicken, i had eaten some by accident (the restaurant is quite dark and the chicken blends in with the white bits of lettuce and shredded parmesan). i told the server because obviously it’s not their fault that the kitchen probably started making it with chicken and then either just put shrimp on top or tried taking the chicken out and missed some but i don’t eat chicken and haven’t in 10+ years; the server was apologetic, but then asked “what do you want me to do?”…? i don’t know how to respond to that…. then the bill comes, and there’s the little gem caesar salad with the $8 shrimp upcharge… i’m not trying to get a free meal but i also don’t wanna pay for a salad i took 3 bites of that make me physically and psychologically sick like a fool… so when they came back to collect payment, i was like, i really don’t want to pay for this salad… the server was like, i can talk to the manager about taking it off, which they ended up doing and i appreciated…. but ??? why was it on the check in the first place? it’s been hours and i’m still nauseous which isn’t a testament to how the chicken was cooked, but more so the fact that i never ordered chicken for the salad, it doesn’t come with chicken as a standard, i made sure that it wasn’t going to have chicken in it, and yet there it was… i personally won’t be returning despite the fries...
Read moreI discovered this place by chance on Google Maps because I was looking for a place to have breakfast where they baked sweet pancakes, so driven a bit by curiosity and instinct I came here. Needless to say, I tried some of the best pancakes in my life and I sensed from the moment I sat down how much the guys who work here were so happy to carry out a passion of theirs and how much they also were then united and in tune with each other. In the meantime I was having breakfast then I found out that in addition to salads and burgers they also made pasta, and as a faithful and good Italian as I am, in America for more than 5 days without having seen even a shadow of it seemed like a utopia to me, so after paying the breakfast bill I immediately made a reservation for the same evening and went back there. That night there then I tried the pasta and in addition also a small hamburger since I was still hungry and I must say I was really impressed with both! Usually Americans don't know how to cook pasta because it's not really a dish of their culture but these guys here were really phenomenal, and for being non-Italians they cooked a pasta from at least 9/10 (so if you are an Italian who is desperately looking for something similar to our cuisine this here is just the place for you). I came back then again this evening then again getting a first and second course and a dessert so as not to miss anything at all. Everything was delicious and for both dinners the guys were really super friendly and professional, laughing and joking with me often but also worrying every 2/3 minutes that everything was fine and even coming to pour water in my glass without me obviously asking for it. In short, a true queen's treatment! And that is not at all a given here. It was a wonderful experience that I will certainly carry in my heart forever as well as I know that these guys can go very far indeed. They really deserve so much. True yes, they definitely won't be a starred restaurant (for now) but as a variety of dish choices and professionalism they beat all New York restaurants. And also then the atmosphere that they offer them in dim lights is really relaxing for anyone and romantic. HIGHLY...
