I've been a loyal customer of the Green Room for over six years now, following my stylist Yuki from their previous location on Ludlow (now located at 103 Allen st).
Yuki is not only exceptional in her craft but also excels in customer service. She effortlessly creates a professional yet cozy atmosphere, making each visit feel like catching up with a friend while getting pampered (her shampoo massages are unparalleled!).
Throughout the years, Yuki has expertly guided me in making the right hair choices for my face shape without ever pressuring me into changes I wasn't ready for.
Today, I finally took the plunge and cut my long, curly locks to just below the ear, and my only regret is not listening to Yuki's advice sooner. Despite the challenges posed by the NYC snowstorm, causing me to arrive 30 minutes late, Yuki remained in constant communication and showed immense empathy towards my transit issues. She even managed to accommodate me within her fully booked schedule, ensuring that both myself and her other clients were well taken care of.
While I haven't experienced the expertise of other stylists at Green Room, it's evident that they all share the same level of dedication and rapport with their clients as Yuki does with me. While part of me wants to keep this hidden gem of NYC to myself, I know that the talent and care at Green Room Hair Studio are abundant enough to be shared. Don't hesitate to book your next hair appointment here - you won't be...
Read moreThe Green Room is by far the best place that I have gotten my hair done, definitely in New York (and really I think ever!). It is the only place that I have felt like I always feel good about going back-I have been coming here for four years now. I get my hair cut and colored by Taka, who is the owner. He listens so attentively to my preferences and gives me suggestions knowing my routine, time to do my hair in the morning, etc. I have never had someone take such care when they do my hair-he is so detailed and careful. I have never been disappointed with my hair cut or color and I’ve never felt like it was the type of hair cut or color that only looked good the first day or when it was styled in the salon. The staff in general is exceptionally kind-they always give me a blanket when I am getting my hair washed! They are just very detailed, considerate and truly kind. I recommend the Green Room to anyone who is looking to get their hair done and is new to NYC or wants to find a place they can stick with. Prior to Green Room I felt like I was just hopping around from place to place and always ended up going into a hair cut a little anxious about how it would go. I would rather wait weeks to get my hair done here than go...
Read moreLove the Green Room and will be coming back - it has great aesthetics, an easy to use website, and great people. Specifically, Mickey is an absolutely fantastic hairdresser. He is warm, personable, kind, and respectful - and during my second haircut, he even remembered details from our first conversation. He struck an amazing balance between looking carefully at the photos I shared with him and making some of his own recommendations, which is really helpful to me as someone who doesn't enjoy aesthetic decisions. The thing that really sets him apart though, is his teaching of practical hairstyling tips (my first haircut he explained how to properly blow dry hair - and an easy way to do it with just your hands!... and second haircut he explained how to use a flat iron to style the amazing haircut he just did). He is the most empowering hairdresser I've met thus far and hope to keep coming back to. Also his hair washing techniques are incredibly relaxing, which includes thoughtfully placing a light cover over you for warmth, a cover over your eyes, and a short (amazing!) scalp massage....
