The ride to river tubing was great had no problem, pick up in the city was very easy! Then from the campsite to the river everything went very smoothly, totally satisfaction. Had a lot of fun on the river but we were the last group and because there were 11 of us tied up together plus a cooler we were moving a little slower then smaller groups. Our guide stayed with for the first half hour then left to check in with the other groups and never came back. We had no direction when it came too staying on which side of the river. If I hadn’t done the trip previously I wouldn’t have known where to get off the river. We were left ALONE on a river for at least 90 MINUTES!!!!!!!! No one came back to tell us to hurry up or anything we were completely abandoned for over an hour! When we finally arrived back we were not rushed we were told to change and get ready then come have lunch. The rest of the people from our bus were already seated on the bus but not our group. When we went to go get food it was already gone, PACKED UP, NOTHING LEFT. When speaking to the guides about what should my group of 11 hungry tipsy people should we were told we could buy snacks in the convience store and that they would buy the first round of beers at the brewery. Because that’s what already tipsy and drunk people need more beer, NOT FOOD! We arrived at the brewery and when asked if the bus would be able to stop for fast food on the way to the city, we were told that there was a subway a block away but that the bus was leaving in 40 minutes. This was also only suggested after I made a phone call to headquarters asking them what they were going to do. But why should my time at the brewery which was paid for be cut because of their lack of skill to keep check of their passengers!!! Also why should my 11 guests have to pay for their lunch when it was included with the price of their ticket. We were also given no guarantee that the bus would wait for us if it took more than 40 minutes to walk to subway get 11 sandwiches made then walk back. After the brewery the ride to the city was very uneventful just 11 HUNGRY and NOW drunk people wanting to get home.
The river tubing itself is the best time, couldn’t not have asked for a better day. Moral of the story is if you want to be fed lunch that is included in the price of the ticket, you better be the first group on and off the river, getting the least amount of time to...
Read moreAs someone who doesn't drive, having round trip transportation to out of state excursions is really awesome and Sourced Adventures is no different. We did NYC to PA for river rafting. The bus ride was good, we had fun white water rafting, and the bus ride back was fine. Just note you're on the river for a LOOOOONG time, lol.
There were some cons/annoyances that I feel should be noted and corrected for future reference. Our email said pickup was at 7am and to arrive 15 minutes early. We did that. The bus was a little late(not an issue) but what was an issue was 95% of us were on the bus and we ended up waiting 30+ minutes for ONE person running behind. It ended up setting the day back and made us late. If that person wasn't gonna make 7am, that's not the burden of 60+ people who did arrive on time. I understand waiting 10 min, but 30?
The bus had a speaker/intercom for our guides to speak through but rarely used it. We missed a lot of vital info because they often spoke loud enough for the first few rows and that's it. If you have the option, use it.
Once we got to the camp, it was very disorganized and by the time we got everything settled, my patience was no where to be found. We likely missed information because of the whole not hearing it thing, but we didn't even know what to ask for to fix anything. For example, we were told we needed to pick up a life vest and a bus pass to get to the river.
We go get our life vest, they tell us we need the bus pass first. OK. We go to a station to get the pass, the people were asking us for info we did not have(what group team/color, names etc) we later find out we get the bus pass from our guides, as a group, then get our vests, as a group.
The guides were fine and nice(maybe too nice) but felt they couldn't keep control of the group at times and could be more assertive.
Overall, I do recommend them. It was still fun and we got what we paid for. The camp it's stationed at was awesome and had lots of food and...
Read moreWe went on the Chicago snow tubing trip. On their website, they marketed that we would be tubing at Wilmot Mountain. When we boarded the bus we were asked to sign a waiver for The Rock Snowpark. I was slightly confused but accepted that maybe because of the holiday they weren't able to take us to Wilmot. The trip leader said we would be at our destination in about an hour. About an hour later we arrived at Wilmot. And I was like oh great! Maybe we just signed the wrong waiver form. About 10 minutes later we were leaving Wilmot. The trip leader came over the speaker and said that we arrived at the place we weren't supposed to be at. It took us another 40 minutes to get to The Rock Snowpark. In total, we were on the bus for 2.5 hours. People on the bus were smoking and their masks were down. There was no accountability for those that weren't following the rules. We did not get our full 2 hours of snow tubing, because we arrived late. Dinner at the brewery was subpar as many people on our trip were frustrated and hungry. Took us another 50 minutes to get there. When the small pizzas came out it was total chaos as people were grabbing what they could. Some people were getting second helpings before people were able to get their first. The trip was extremely disorganized and not worth the money. I recommend saving the money and planning your own trip to go snow tubing. It would be cheaper to rent a car for the day, book the tickets at Wilmot, and plan to have dinner...
